Not paid by Shadow Agency

Has anyone done a shop for Shadow Agency? I seem to be having trouble getting paid. After several messages (all unanswered) I looked them up on the BBB. They have an "F" rating. Anything I can do about this? I did the job July 19 of this year and was told by someone on this forum that it may take up to 45-60 days to get paid. While I feel this is a long time I would still do jobs for this company IF they at least answered my inquiries. This was a realty shop, easy and good pay ($35.00) but it doesn't do me amy good if I don't get it. There is no phone number listed for them on the BBB site, just a fax. Anyone??

The BBB rating is misleading. They have not chosen to get BBB accredited and so there is no information available other than the length of time they have been in business and their industry. For some reason the BBB has the business category as Work-at-Home Companies which is one that raises red flags.

The number I have is 877-874-2369.

For video shops an invoice must be submitted. I'm not sure if that applies to written shops.

I made a thread about them a few weeks ago. My friend told me to avoid them because they do not answer her emails but a couple of posters said they were reliable in that thread. I did not know what to believe after that thread. I called my friend to ask again and she told me she has sent multiple emails that were ignored.

Edit: My friend told me she was paid despite her emails not being answered.

I had a similar issue. I contacted them and they were easy to work with and very apologetic. It was a very nice change from the cat and mouse game I have played with other MSC's to get paid.

I learned very quickly that e-mails are easy to get ignored or fall of the radar, phone calls are not quite so easy.

I have emailed schedulers about their shops before requesting them and never got a reply. However, when I went ahead and apply for a shop, I get it within 24 hours. The reports are not hard and I was paid for all my shops, according to their somewhat slow schedule.

Call; do not just send email. They get about 600+ emails a day, per person.

Like what Walesmaven said above. Call the number as opposed to emailing. I've never had an issue with reaching either the primary scheduler or the company owner this way.

I HAVE called, several times. Now they don't even answer the phone. I've left messages to no avail. What's a girl to do? Oh, well.......

I'd be very cautious from this point on...you shouldnt even have to CALL to get your pay....

Shadow is a small company and there are times with small companies it will happen. I have never known them to not pay. I thought they payment terms had been extended and it seems to sometimes take a few months.

Linda is there any chance that they have sent your payment to the wrong email address for your paypal?

I just registered with this MSC (Shadow Agency, NOT Shadow Shopper) per the request of a scheduler that I have worked with before with another MSC. My registration went through but nothing is showing on the job board yet even though the scheduler said that the January shops have been posted. I think there is a bit of lag time from the time you register for a new MSC and your access to the job board.

From what I can gather, this MSC is small and a slow-payer. But it seems like they might only do video shops. Is this true? I have not switched over to the V-side yet.

My friend worked with them. She said they also do non video shops. She was upset that she had to call them repeatedly to get paid each time she worked with them. She eventually got all her pay but hated having to chase her pay everytime she worked for them so she will not work for them again.

They just posted a bunch of written jobs. I am very glad the scheduler now includes locations because not one of them was in my state or any one bordering me. It seems like they were primarily Texas and California.

The jobs, both written and video, are now showing. None are close to where I live or travel to. Thanks everyone.

I looked at the board and didn't see any video shops listed.

I have not seen video jobs on their job boards. But they shometimes show up on the VSN site job lists. And, I may even have seen some on the forum jobs board???
