Career College Shops - opinions?

Hey, I'm new to the boards but I've been doing shops now for about a year, all of them career colleges. I've been doing them with a local company who had some local shops, but I've seen there are some other companies who do shops around here. Does anyone know anything about them? I saw a listing for AboutFace and I checked out their website, it seems pretty legit. I also talked to a company called MPACT Group. Has anyone done any shops with these guys before? Or has anyone done any other career college shops and know other MSC's that offer it? I'm getting pretty comfortable with it and wouldn't mind picking up a few more. Thanks for the help!

Are these the ones that pay $80, plus reimburse your enrollment fee? The email says "meet with financial aid rep via phone"... do you have to visit the actual location, too?

I considered those, but so long they're no longer on the board here. I wasn't sure what was required, time-wise; and what information would have to be given, and if there was an on-site visit required as well (100 mile round trip for me, if so).

Anyone done these, and care to share what the experience was like?

I submitted information for a company called Norton Norris...anyone have any experience with them?
I have done a dozen or so of these and, for the most part, enjoyed them. The time requirement has varied from 30 minutes to over 3 hours. It depends on if you will have to take some sort of test, how many people you will need to meet with, and if you are required to meet with a financial person to discuss scholarships or other financial aid. I would be sure to find out the specifics of the shop before traveling that far so you will know if you are looking at a 4 or 6 hour day (including drive time) and then decide if it is worth it. I have received the same compensation for a 30-minute shop as I did for one that went a little over 3 hours AND required a second visit (the financial counselor left early the day I went and it was a required aspect of the shop. The rotation on these is typically a year or more so I will not be eligible to do any more in my area until late October at the earliest, but will do them again as soon as I am eligible.
