GameFilm / audio recorder

This MSP is posting $40 non-reveals in my area and the job requires an audio recorder, with the recording to be uploaded as a .wav or mp3 file. I haven't worked with GameFilm before, but have read here that they are sloooowww in paying. However, I also haven't used a recorder, and need to know if you feel its price is justifiable. I don't know how to upload/download audio files, but feel I could muddle through. All comments are welcome.

I have not worked with this company but my understanding that payment is slow. I don't know if they are supplying an audio recorder. If not, the ones that can transfer files to your computer are not cheap. My good quality Sony picks up enough ambient sound that I got an external condensor microphone that picks up my voice well and the voice of the person I am talking with well as long as they are talking towards me. My files come in .MSV format but there are free converters on the web to make them .WAV or MP3 files. I have just never bothered.

As for uploading the file, I would not anticipate it to be any more difficult than uploading a .jpg or .pdf format file. Of course the size of the file will make a difference in how long it takes your computer to move the data. An 11 minute .MSV audio file is 1,300 KB or thereabouts.
After doing the timeshare shop that they sent me a record to use, I am dying to get a DVR. I did not have to upload but if you have one with USB its a no-brainer. Just transfer the file, the computer sees the recorder as a hard drive. If not, you need card reader equipped to read the card in the recorder, or a blue tooth equipped computer and dvr.

I want a USB one but cannot afford one right now, or in the next couple of months, since santa has to visit....

Check your state laws first. It is NOT legal in all states to record without the persons written knowledge.
It is legal in HI.

I have done many shops for Game Film and they pay like clockwork on the 20th or sooner of the month after the shop is done.
It is legal in Texas to record. GameFilm is located in Austin where I am. I've worked for them about a year. One of my sons has done a couple of shops for them also. They have never paid me slowly; they are always like clockwork. Also very nice company to work with. My only complaint ...... too many shoppers in Austin so I can't get all the shops I want.
I have worked for them and they paid the month following the shop on the 20th of the month.

I have worked for Game Film for several years and always get paid the following month. I wish all companies were as easy to work for.

I have not seen any of their audio recorder shops but love their casual steak house shops and a couple of their retail shops. They pay by PayPal the middle of the month following when you shopped. Wish they had more shops. They are located here in Austin and I wish they had more shops - and less competition for shops - they don't have many and their shops go immediately when they hit the job board. I always get 10s and they have never come back and argued or asked questions. I've never done an audio but would consider it if GameFilm posted a shop using it.
I always get 10's too. But they have very little here. I have never gotten a single question on a report, even when reporting multiple times that the recruiters being shopped were not present. I like them. :-)

I have done numerous jobs for gamefilm-consultants.com and would recommend them to anyone. They have paid for all jobs promptly as promised. Never a delay, and never a shortage. I'd give them a thumbs up!
