What's up with Shopper's Critique?

For over a year now I've been watching Shopper's Critique's job boards and I have requested shops that just sit there requested for months and months and never get assigned to anyone. Has anyone else noticed this?

I like their jobs and they just recently seem to have more jobs in my area after a long dry spell with only phone shops. They seem to have tons of auto related phone jobs around here but i have never requested those. I did two recently that were retail stores and was assigned right away. They do have clients where they put you on a wait list if you request the shop and then if the 3 or 4 people ahead of you flake they will contact you out of the blue weeks later. Other shops I notice stay there but I get the impression some of the shops they keep up there and then when the rotation comes around they contact one of the people who applied. There is a toy company I have applied for often and never gotten for a reimbursed phone order shop. The other reimbursed phone order shop I see often and it stays up there forever, I have done twice in about three years. so they do hire if you are persistent and get your name up there at the right time.
I just received a phone call from them the day before Thanksgiving asking if I would be interested in shopping a hair salon that I did over a year ago. I had not even applied for it but the rotation is a year and I guess they needed the help. I gladly accepted.

For two years now, I have requested the phone shops that sit and sit and sit....never have I been assigned a single phone shop. However, I have had no problem self assigning or receiving other assignments.

For the record, the staff at SC are top notch.
This is not a company who is serious about mystery shopping. I posted elsewhere that I had applied for shops which were moving up each day, but never being assigned. I was told by a "regular" shopper that I should just keep applying and wait longer. Well... I'm headed to that particular city today to shop, and I requested the job over 5 days ago, and today, the begin date is "today"... and tomorrow, the begin date will be "tomorrow".

Notice this...* This is an approximate due date. It is subject to change until the shop has officially been scheduled.

This is not a company serious about getting work for shoppers or any intention of assigning job anytime in the near future. The problem I find annoying is that they sent me an email asking me to complete these shops.

That's annoying... because I have requested this particular shop twice now... but I won't bother going to their site to look for anything. I'm a serious shopper. I want serious schedulers... not part-time wantabees.

I've edited this to add: I haven't bothered to go back to the site to see if jobs are being assigned. I find that when MSC's get desperate, my phone rings smiling smiley

I've never had an issue with them and have gotten calls from them asking if I would like to take an assignment they needed filled on the fly. I get paid quickly and have 3 assignments with them scheduled this week.
I too have signed up for phone hops that continue to sit, when I asked someone about them I was told they were not a priority.
You have to do a certain number of shops before they will award you a phone shop. I don't remember how many that is.
That seems..odd.

For all the other MSC's I've worked for, the phone shops are either a "proving ground" for new shoppers (so they can judge your ability to write a comprehensive and articulate report) OR they are "reward" shops (easy shops for shoppers who've gone above and beyond for them recently).

If I were a scheduler for an MSC, low priority or not, I would be assigning these shops when people applied for them. But then, much of what I have read about Shopper's Critique isn't particularly positive.
I got a notification today asking me to sign for the shop that I have already requested twice and had to go back and remove my request because the jobs are never assigned.

I replied to the email with some comments pertaining to their lack of concern over assigning jobs.... Just for the record... it has been weeks with that job on the board... never assigned... ever. I have to stand by the fact that this company is not serious about mystery shopping nor are they concerned about assigning shops.

If a shopper has an open schedule for weeks... and is willing to wait weeks for notifications... this is the company for you. Otherwise... don't waste your time.
Kss is scheduling for this company now and I was wondering if this company, Shopper's Critique pays on time, without hassle? Anyone know? Thanks in Advance!

Looks like Kern is just scheduling a couple of their clients. The shops in my area are still being scheduled by Shopper's Critique. And yes they pay fine. Worked for them for years on and off.

No problem with payment and most of the jobs I do for them is still available for self-assign. The one with rotation, or video shops are requests.

I have done about 10 shops for them, in fact I applied for three shops yesterday and already have one of those scheduled right now. Other than a big Casino near me, they don't have a ton of shops in my area but I must tell you, they are easy to work with, I have gotten a lot of good feedback with both their schedulers and auditors, and they pay rather quickly. This is one MSC I am happy to work with and highly recommend to any on this forum. And yes, they do use KSS to schedule but you can also do this directly from the Shopper's Critique website.

They're one of my favorites also. My only complaint is the pet store shop takes FOREVER (only because I have to look at the cute little bunnis, birds, guinee so long! ;D). I always schedule with them directly also.
I have shopped for this msc for more than a year. Granted it has not been many shops but it does help. Their report use to ask if the sales clerk mentioned shoes while escorting you to the changing rooms? One is always suppose to ask for several items of clothing - giving the sales associate every opportunity to sale and convince the customer to buy. My last shop and it probably will be MY LAST - the clerk at Lumberton, TX <store name> was inept and did nothing. I found several items to try on and still the girl did nothing. While I was walking to the dressing rooms I stopped at the shoe display and again the girl said nothing. I gave her every chance to shape up but she did not. I wrote everything down. BIG MISTAKE in the world of low paying msc. I should NOT have mentioned the shoes as the company now as banned me from shopping at <store name>. BIG MISTAKE as <store name> HQ in NC should know about this and maybe reconsider their contract which expires next April. When will companies understand just because someone make a low income does not necessarily mean their IQ is?

You need to edit your post and remove the name of the client. Obviously you are mad at SC and don't care about your ICA, but you can at least respect Jacob's rules about the issue.

Companies are like people, some learn slower than others...not sure it has anything to do with income OR IQ. Other shoppers on this forum have been explaining ICA violations to you for over a year. When will you understand?
Wow! AustinMom gets firm. It's a first and I am there!
