National Shopping Service Pay

NSS shows I have been issued a check for October shops, but I can't see the date it was sent. Any ideas when those checks usually arrive? Any way to tell when the check was mailed?

Let me clarify, shops performed in Oct. The website says, "November Shops." I finally found under FAQ that they mail them the last business day of the month.

Their website is weird to navigate!
I have been shopping with these guys for a long time. Checks are mailed the last day of the month following the month of the shop so October would be mailed on November 30. The checks are mailed from California and I have had experience to receive my check in as little as two days or as long as 8 days.
I believe 6 weeks.....I just got my check on the 8th for a job done in Feb.

I just did my first shop for them recently. Q: They mailed the check to your address, it was returned to them, and they CHARGED you? My question is why did they charge you? I just had an interest check sent to me and for some reason it was sent back, when I called they quoted my address and it was correct so it must have been a new mail person or something. However, they just sent it back to me. . . . no charge. What is with some of the MSCs charging fees for this and for that; they do not pay well or pay in a reasonable amount of time according to (depending on the state you live in) labor laws. I have acclimated to receiving the 30-60 day payments so I am okay with a late payment. But, I am not okay with all these fees that I read about on this forum that are charged to shoppers. GRRRRR
I posted on another thread, their account is on hold, however, if you put the check into your account, there will be
a two day hold. Their bank called the company and my money was paid to me after much hassle and fingerprinting me.
Maybe they have it frozen because of a scam....just a guess.

I understand the two day hold; but why did they fingerprint you. That seems excessive.
The bank fingerprinted and probably took your picture from the security video. Thats what the $2 charge was for and they have your pict hung up in the break room in case you do it again(lol).
They thought I was trying to pull a scam as the check was frozen, all for 20.00!!!
I was told later this was procedure, excessive, yes and yes.

I have been finger printed when cashing a check before. For some banks around here, it is a very common practice.
I only go to the bank that I have an account with. Never been fingerprinted; and if they ask me to I would switch banks.
I have never missed a payment with them. They do mail out the last day of the month following the shop and yes, it has taken quite a while on occasion to get my check (no more than 8 days though).
NSS has had some problems with their bank, Wells Fargo, and some checks. It is all cleared up now. If you call them, keep in mind that they are on PST and if you are in EST and call at 9 am they aren't there yet. Also, since the check problem, I imagine that they are swamped with shoppers calling. Try emailing Brandi Underwood bunderwood@nationalshoppingservice.com
and let her know if you have any problems with a check. Also, if your bank charged you a fee, let Brandi know and she will give you a letter from Wells Fargo that you can take to your bank and have them reverse the charges.
