Tis The Season...kudos, & completing shops during the holidays

I have an encouraging story to report to beleaguered shoppers everywhere:

I was trying to complete a non-targeted apartment shop last week. The shop had to be rescheduled because the agents were not going to be available to conduct a tour on the day that I could complete the shop. Then, the Due Date arrived and I could not reach the office staff via phone. The answering machine indicated that the office was open, so I headed out by Noon in order to complete the shop. Upon arrival, I discovered that the apartment office was CLOSED due to a holiday party being given to the residents that day. Arrrg! I was very worried about not being able to complete the shop, and having to reschedule AGAIN. I was not happy that I was not able to complete the shop after driving 61 miles roundtrip - expensive in gas and time!

I received a call on Saturday from Doug (the owner) at NWLPC after he saw that I had not been able to complete the shop after having driven 61 miles. After gathering more details & discussing the scenario that had ensued, Doug went BEYOND the call of duty and offered to cover ALL of my gasoline expenses on this shop. He asked me to let him know when I could complete it, and did not yank the shop from me. Clearly, I could have executed this shop more efficiently, which Doug explained in a very thoughtful way. I wanted to send kudos to Doug at NWLPC for giving me the opportunity to not only complete the shop, but to assure that the financial margin I needed to make was maintained. He took the time to call me to talk about the shop, and exhibited remarkable goodwill, so I wanted to share this with all of you. Good things can appear out of difficulty, and challenges can lead to strength.

This holiday, may your "snafus" turn into silver, and your "goofs" turn into gold!
