GFK

Just saying finally passed the test. They revised it. Did a major bonused cell shop and got paid in a week. Much thanks to them.

I don't know about them cynb. They always seem to have "weird jobs" posted. I am soooo not going into [client]to try on clothes or buy a $500 watch and then return it. They are too rich for my blood. I guess that it's best to stay away. But I'm glad that you got paid quickly. Yay you!

Thanks. I so do not have to worry about [client] jobs here. (: OH. Just do their cell shops, which on a route works out. Report aok and schedulers helpful.
Surprise..surprise... I got a PayPal notice on Friday.Thought it was from a last month shop, but they were paid. I was paid on 1/4 for a shop I did on 1/2. Thanks GFK!!

I also did a cell phone shop recently with a very large bonus. They were evidently desperate to have it done because it was the last day to complete it. I got my payment in full in 10 days. Very impressed!
Quick pay and tasty buffalo chicken wings (that's lower case, as in not the name of a business but simply some buffalo-style chicken wings)

They are actually scheduling cell phone shops for June 1 and 2 right now. I think I'll hold off on committing myself over two months early.

I really do like this company but seriously, I wonder about some of their clients who keep sending shoppers into the mega big box store to check on the customer service quality and salesmanship skils (or complete and total lack thereof) of people in the electronics / cell phone department. I have done more of these than I care to do over the past 60 days and I wonder why anyone would set foot in one of those places seeking expert help on anything. Their people are trained to swipe things over a bar code reader and ask for money and unless they own a smart phone I don't think there is much else they are capable of.

Seriously, there is no comparison what so ever with going into a Corporate Store or one of the speciality Electronics stores. Just when I think I will never find as bad a sales presentation as the one I have been to at big box, I get one even worse the next week. A class of second graders could do a better job of selling me on the finer points of a Samsung vs. a Nokia or AT&T vs Verizon, or Contract vs. No Contract. There is perhaps no segment of the marketplace more mystery shopped than the wireless phone industry, every MSC seems to have grabbed a piece of the pie. I suppose I could even specialize in doing nothing but that one segment given all of the opportunities (and GFK has quite a few) but I wish all of these wireless companies, smartphone manufacturers, etc. would hop on a plane to Arkansas and have a come to Jesus meeting with the execs and tell them they have some serious issues.

I'm curious. How fast do they pay?

I would love to do a shop for them but all they have in my area are cell phone shops. There are no wings near me.
And the cell phone shops are low to standard pay, pages and pages of guidelines, and then a quiz. Too much work for one shop. I can do comparable cell phone shops for other MSCs that have one page of guidelines and no quiz.
The cell shops are too much work for one shop, which is why I am taking several to make it worthwhile, for the time involved in studying for the quiz and printing out the audit forms. I figure 4-5 audits would make it worthwhile.

I signed up with GFK and am finding in Arizona all they seem to offer is wings shops for which you have to be male - one down, I've got that one, and of the age range 21-44 - I miss that by two years. So no wings for me - and even though this shop doesn't pay much, I'd like to try these wings with reimbursement anyway.....
Passing the test can be tricky, but if you, but there is another button that you can click on for a 2nd look before you submit the test. Click on this and it will let you relook at your answers and give you the ones you got wrong. The schedulers will also walk you through the test. I think the button is called 2nd attempt or relook. You will have to retake the test every month, but I have never seen the test change, so keep your answers.
There are some wings takeout shops - no gender requirement for that nor do you have to take someone with you. I am a single female and just did one.
They also have "any age, any gender" sit down wing shops. The scenarios rotate, so keep checking the board.

I'll keep an eye out for these, thanks for the heads up!

The new cell audit shops are too much work no matter how
much they pay me. Unless you get lucky with a rare small
location there is no chance it will only take the time they
claim to complete it.

It also seems like a lot of narrative for an audit billed as easy with an easy report that is "mostly" yes/no questions.

I wanted to chime in one on other matter. I think I tend to take GfK for granted. They pay so fast that I get a lot of $11 - $30 payments in my Paypal account. Because I don't get one big check once a month as I do with a lot of other MSC, I tend not to take a moment and appreciate all of the assignments I do get from these folks but when I look at the shear number of deposits make on a constant basis from the GfK team it really does add up. There are days where there deposit gave me the gas money or the funds for a couple of fast food shops for other providers to keep going.

Thanks GfK!

Not necessarily no wings for you....they shop that particular restaurant with different scenarios....they have those with no age /gender requirements. If you feel comforatble you may opt to that one alone. And if ur a female you can always have a male companion with you when the scenario calls for it.

I have a real problem with GFK. I have done many shops for them and always were paid on time. I was assigned 2 cell phone audits ( a real long project for 18 bucks and 2 wings shops. They want a lot of detail and that is oK if one buys into it ahead of time. (You make your bed and lie in it)
I had these 4 shops assigned and then cancelled by someone at GFK at 2 am. When I asked about what had happened, I was told that I was not needed for shops that had been assigned. I made the mistake of asking for a 9 dollar bonus on a shop that took 100 miles rt to do. That is all OK except when I ask what happened, I get a dialog about the scheduler, Kristen W, not wanting to get into a back and forth with me about why it was cancelled. All I wanted was an answer and no one there seems to want to tell me why I go from a 10 shopper to persona no grata. I did nothing wrong in any manner except ask for a bonus. The tests from this company are rediculous and time consumming for nothing. I will not work for them any more and I strongly suggest that you look twice before getting into this mess with a company that treats shoppers as what we are...idiots if we continue with this charade.
These schedulers obviously have difficulty thinking.
They post a shop for a wings store
"Due dates Start 7/1 due by 7/4."
Then they have a disclaimer Do not shop on 7/1,7/2,7/3 or7/4.
I wonder when they want the shops done?
And I could go on and on and on but I do not want to be like one particular person who bashes until interest is dead in listening. I will only say this last time.. GFK never again!!
Ouch! Sorry that happened to you.

If you want an answer you can try emailing Donna Goodwin, who is the GFK scheduling manager. I also know she reads this forum so maybe she can chime in and shed some light on your situation. In fact, I think it would benefit all shoppers to better understand what happened.
