Shoutout to Measure Consumer Perspectives

Had a great experience with them and thought I'd share.

I signed up for an ongoing project with Measure Consumer Perspectives that required an initial purchase. They stated that the initial purchase cost would be reimbursed within 5 business days. Which was eminently reasonable, so I went ahead and signed onto the project.

I completed the initial purchase last night and finished the report about 10pm. I received the Paypal reimbursement just a few minutes ago. Less than 18 hours turnaround.

I only video shop for them and they are great!

I've never experienced vague and useless negative feedback from the editors at MCP, as I and so many others have with another well-known MSC. Payments are consistently made in a timely manner. Assignment instructions are clear and easy to understand. My communications with them have been prompt and responsive. What's not to love? smiling smiley

Although I am not thrilled about shopmetrics. MCP is top notch. They make it clear that if you have to cancel or reschedule they will not penalize and work with you. They should be a positive model for all MSCs. Hope someone from there is reading this. Kudos.
I have to ditto the kudos to MCP after having to ask for an extension due to illness. I got back a speedy and empathetic and understanding response, and rescheduling arrangements were made quickly and easily.

Speaking of which, I think I'm going back to bed to try to recover. tongue sticking out smiley

Yeah, shopmetrics drives me nuts.
MCP, love them.

I would drive a hundred miles for one of their video shops. Great people.
I truly like MCP, too. They treat their shoppers like adults! I've had to cancel shops and never been penalized although I suppose if I did it frequently, they would drop me or something other.
I have had no payment issues with this company, but they continue to reduce the pay for their shops. Cell phone shops are down to ten bucks!
I've noticed the reduced pay just lately here, too. Very disappointing!

I'm sure the requirements and narratives haven't been cut down. And one of their cell phone shops has *REALLY* annoying narrative requirements.

Wait for the shops to go up - I've seen them go from $10 -> $15 frequently. I usually pick them up when they hit $18-20.
Right now, some of the cell phone shops are $20. I've noticed that they keep playing with the fee amount. The fees go up for awhile, then go up a bit more and more, and then the assignments are dropped down to $10. And then the cycle repeats.

My only problem with them has been I don't have a camera to photo the front of the shop. I performed two shops for them last year which required a business card. The company didn't have a card and I didnt get paid. Can't go for that too often.
Why don't you take a picture with your phone? I certainly wouldn't invest in a camera for the MCP shops, but there are so many other shops where a camera is convenient and/or required that it would pay for itself quickly.

I've also had situations where there was no business card available and my shops have always been accepted if the associate writes down their name and number on a store brochure or something.

Cheryl,

If you don't have a smartphone that will take photos, you can get a 12 megapixel camera for $40-50 at Wal-Mart, Best Buy, and many other big stores.

There are a lot of gift return cameras on deep discount right now. I saw a really nice Canon, 12 megapixel, originally $119, marked down to $24.99 yesterday.

Ask the sales associate in the camera department if you can have a lesson before you buy. If you go in the morning, when its not busy, they will be glad to help.

Being able to take photos of stores, displays, gas pumps, and receipts is pretty vital to being a mystery shopper.
If you are mystery shopping there is no excuse for not having a camera. I may sound harsh, but it is true. As stated above you can get decent digital cameras for well under 100 brand new. Even the high end ones were deeply discounted during the holidays as cameras fall victim to smartphones the way gps's have.

When I started there were many more jobs to be had that did not require a camera. Even with that, the potential for higher paying shops started to become too obvious for me to ignore. Now with most people having smart phones the photo requirements will increase, not decrease.

I have refused to do any at $10. I hope more people make $15 their absolute minimum. People are worth more than $10. I bet some people end up taking a loss on these $4-$12 shops if they ever have any car repairs.
