Please check out previous discussions about SSS. There are many instances of non-payment and/or excessively late payment with dubious business practices.

Well, add me to the list for non payment, too. I did a shop Oct 28 and still no $. It show pending in my shop log, as it has for about three weeks. I'm sick with 'shingles' so I've only sent a few emails to their accounting department as the scheduler suggested, no response. I've just left a voice mail requesting call back, but I'm not holding my breath. I should have checked the forum search before accepting this shop, I do know better. I guess I'll just write this off to my mistake for not researching this company. I'm glad I got the refund immediately from my return.

I feel so crappy, at this point, I'm willing to consider my lesson learned. Maybe later when I feel better I'll feel more fiestey, but for now....no. ;0(
Hopefully you feel better soon, Ruby. But please don't give up on trying to collect payment. This MSC seems to make things as difficult and as convoluted as possible so that shoppers will not pursue trying to get paid. Don't play into that tactic.

Also, don't get get caught up in the old pass-the-buck scenarios that SSS will try, as in referring you to various "departments". It has long been suspected that there really is only one person behind the scenes.

Sound like that one ad, for one of the office stores I think, where the guy calls his IT department, and then answers a second phone. Later he calls payroll, and answers a third phone. : )

Now that Summit Scheduling no longer schedules for SSS (Thank you, Summit Scheduling!) and more and more shoppers share the same kinds of experience they have had with SSS, let's see how much longer SSS survives.

Oh, wait. Maybe TWoO can imitate Consumer Connection and offer a drawing for a $100 prize for positive forum posts? Make it a $1,000. Won't make a difference to TWoO anyway 'cos no shopper will "win" and get paid.
FYI for those not familiar with SSS or its practices -TWoO is an endearing pet name we have for the owner of this MSC. The abbreviation stands for The Wizard Of Oz. See StormCloud's posting above as an example of how this company operates and how its owner earned this name. StormCloud might have been making a funny, but this is actually for real with SSS.

OK, I won't let this die, but I'll contact them next week. Sigh! Thanks for the info, and I thought I was being so careful in researching companies. But, now that I think about it, I didn't know it was for SSS because I answered Summit Scheduling's post.
Let us know how it goes, Ruby. And be sure to save copies of all of your email correspondence.

I am glad I read the same complaints and problems with SSS. I did a shop for this company Nov. 27, 2012, and still have not been paid. My shop log has showed "payment pending" for almost 1 month. I emailed the scheduler. The first time she responded by saying, "I have forwarded this to the accounting department." Two days went by, nothing. I have emailed two other times since then, don't get a resonse. I am very frustrated. This shop cost me gas, and my valuable time to complete. I would like to be paid!!

Keep at it, Lucy. You, too, Ruby. Don't give up on trying to get paid. Make a scheduled appointment with yourself to contact SSS twice a week about this matter. Title the subject line "Fifth Payment Request" or "Fourteenth Payment Request" or whatever is applicable. Keep re-using your same email message by digging it out of your sent folder and forwarding it on with a new message added on top. That keeps all your correspondence in one message for easier tracking. This is especially important after TwoO starts the multi-departmental game and tries to make things as confusing and as frustrating as possible.

More than likely, TWoO at some point will tell you that you can't go by the payment pending status on the website to determine if you have been paid. Or she will tell you there was a problem with your PayPal account. Or she will tell you she tried to call you. Or option D, a combination of all of the above.

Let us know what personalities you encounter, and how things are going in your attempts to get paid.

FYI - I finally spoke to TWoOZ. Sh ran me in circles on the phone for 45 minutes. She is in the process of disolving the company. The BBB of Washington state closed my case since they do not handle payment disputes and the Attorney General of Washington forwarded me a message she senthem stating that she is in the process of Chapter 7 and all mystery shoppers should be getting a letter from her lawyer soon. They also closed my complaint and said there is nothing they can do.

Good luck to us all, but I doubt any of us will ever get paid.
Is this company really folding? (Secret Shopping services) I was just in the process of sending them a certified letter through USPS asking for payment. If this is the case, then I won't waste my time or money. Just kiss my $35.00 payment goodbye!Wheeeeww!
Thank you.
Wow...I had no idea. This is the first company I have worked with in ten years that has done this sort of cheap thing. Guess it is a lesson hard learned.

Thanks, everyone, for all the information.
Sorry you were one of the ones that didn't get paid. This has been a very unpleasant situation for many.

Nope. Probably just more blahblahblah to get rid of any shoppers trying to contact her.
