Points are common in the app world, I think its just like badges in yahoo questions or amazon reviews its just for 'status' within the app. It means nothing but a lot of companies are trying to make work seem like a game to appeal to today's generation.
Also, I think the word 'investigator' is just their word to explain that they work with 5 different msc's.
That being said, I have completed an isecretshop mission. The pay was a flat rate of $20 which about 1/2 ended up being reimbursement for expenses. I had to go around to different departments at a business and check off or photograph certain things. I really felt the pay was worth it since I was able to do everything right within the app, I didn't have to enter a report later so it was really time saving. I enjoyed this 'mission' and I have been watching for more jobs. It took about three weeks to pay and I did send one message within the app reminding of payment. 3 weeks is slow for an app but faster than most msc's so I consider it to be average.
Make sure you have a full battery when going out to do these shops because it will be saving pictures as you go :-)
