smashburger

Completed a smashburger shop and there is soooo much work for being reimbursed only $10 and being paid $6. I find the chain restaurants that give $35-$40 reimbursement even easier than this!

I thought they looked like too much work for the pay. Thanks for confirming. I'll continue to avoid them unless bonused up to about $20 plus reimbursement. I'd rather do Five Guys -- $7 plus reimbursement and easy report.

I pray it does not occur that the last thing I did before I died was vacuum the house or eat broccoli.
Thanks for the heads up on that, DKushner. If I see one available in my area, I'll know to avoid it now. I'm with Secret on really liking the other burger assignment. So quick and easy.

Thanks for the heads up. I thought about taking one, now I'm glad I didn't. I'm all for quick and easy, even if the pay isn't that great.

Thanks for the heads up from myself also. They have a wonderful salad there called the Arizona Cobb that I crave some days - but I'd rather pay for it myself if the report is a huge hassle. Great place to eat in my book, though.
I don't think the report is a huge hassle. I would certainly try it once to see if its worth it to you. I am one though who will shop for food/quality of life type shops also.

I like that term - "quality of life" assignments. I may have to borrow that one, Liz. smiling smiley

six bux??? wow! when I did those shops a couple of years ago(before firing the company for being late on payment), they were paying more than that.
We don't have Smashburger in our area. When I saw the title, I imagined The Hulk as an unhappy customer.

Honeslty I think this is a bit rude. You don't need to feel one bit sorry for me for taking this shop on occasion. It is not the best I get at all but rather a complement to my day. I don't have this brand near me but a town I shop does. I go over there and do a full day of shopping (have lunch or dinner at the nearby Smashburger as a job) and get my meal completely reimbursed...I don't seem to go over the reimbursement and I receive a small fee for the form. I don't find the form that tedious at all. That said I have shopped for over 13 years and can describe pretty quickly what I have observed. There are no weird things that have to be done on this shop at all and it can all be done very naturally while I have a nice lunch in the middle of my shopping day.

I think it's important to remember that people shop for different reasons and a shop that might work for me might not at all work for you. I could get snooty and say I feel sorry for people who feel they need to do cell phone shops as I absolutely hate those but I realize they work for others. Really we should be supportive of one another. Sure it is great to share hints about shops that will increase in value throughout the month but its crazy to be rude to one another but shop choices.

Lol!..I can hear his voice in my head, "Hulk Smash! Burger"

Once again, many, many thanks for the heads up on this shop that I am avoiding after initially being interested in performing it. Hopefully they will eventually move to another msc with a more reasonable report like the one for Five Guys.

It's not so much that I took offense but I think its important for us to realize that each of us shop for different reasons and have different goals. That doesn't mean my way is the only way or your way is right or wrong; it's what works for each of us individually.

I went back and looked at the form in question and found it to be mostly yes/no with a few narratives that are basically recounting what happened. I can type that out as fast as I can type out these responses. I did one a couple of weekends ago and my biggest problem was typing too fast and making silly typos and grammar errors...will fix that next time by putting in Word first.

Yes Exactly. Unfortunately in this business (as probably most others) we aren't always paid appropriately or according to the standards we would prefer.

Thanks for the "easy report" statement. There is one REALLY close to me that I've been mulling over but have been avoiding because I wasn't sure about the report. Maybe I'll try it.

The Smashburger in my area closed! I never did a shop because I heard about all the work for very little in return. I certainly won't drive to the next closest, 20 minutes away, for that aggravation.

We have 2 Smashburgers in my area. However, I found the burgers very salty, so I am not that anxious to do the shop.

Crap. I signed up to do a shop at the first one in this area just to try it. I see it's 12 pages of questions. I guess I'll try it and see how it goes. I can always go back to the Five Guys shops. I love it when they get bonused here. That's a prettty easy one to do after you've had a couple under your belt.

Really? Because I am looking at one of my sample shops and it is 8 pages and that is with all the narrative areas filled in with examples for reference. I just went through and counted and there were mostly yes/no with 12 areas that require narrative which is as simple as the bathroom was clean and well stocked. Some narrative requires more but still just like you are talking to someone describing your food.

Well, it took 12 pages to print the blank form out. (I wasn't able to print the sample shops for some reason.) It's just more work compared to Five Guys, and the fee and reimbursement aren't as great. I'll have to see how the food is compared to Five Guys to decide if it's something I'll want to do more than once.

We'll see!

Weird. Personally I am more a fan of the Smashburger food than Five Guys. I only do Five Guys on occasion typically inspired by a bonus. My very favorite of this genre is Meatheads but I think they are pretty small scale.

I shop burger and taco places because I take one of my teen age grand daughters to lunch every week. I do some upscale restaurants too, but these fast food shops are a great treat for kids!
I completed 2 assignments with this eatery in 2010; both were delicious. Their burgers are among the tastiest I've yet eaten and the Haagen-Dazs shake was superb. The 2nd MSC was one for whom my current total is approaching 200 shops. The report was reasonable for a $5 fee + $15 reimbursement; had I not discontinued eating this type food, I would readily return. The 1st MSC, though, dinged me $2 of the $5 fee, provided a $10 reimbursement and had a report quite extensive; I requested, and was given, my de-activation.

Just who is doing these shops now? After they dropped the fee to $4 I said never again unless I see a bonus, but I've never seen a bonus on these.
I do an amazing burger shop for the nicest MSC and am able to get an Ahi tuna burger and sweet potato fries...love it,
easy report and pays 20.00 Think I'll stick to that and my fun In and Out burger.

Don't ask for name, my lips are sealed.

I work in sales. There are clients that are considered "champagne taste with a beer budget." The MSC that has this account clearly fits the bill. They are cheap and terrible.
I keep getting the e-mail for a location about an hour away from me. The fee does not cover the gas.
