DSG?

Has anyone done shops for DSG? Do you find them easy to work with?
I signed up and had 3 calls from them asking the same questions, which I had filled out in their online form. Then they called me back to repeat what I had just said. Not to mention I could barely understand them. I'm thinking maybe I should unsubscribe.

Plant Lady,

A real newbie to the forum myself but I see under your posting there is a link to more discussions about DSG Associates, Inc.

I would also suggest doing a Goggle search with DSG Associates, INC in " " marks and see what pops up on the web about them.
Beware the insurance ones, they will ask social security numbers on the life insurance calls and too many can attach themselves as soft hits on your credit report.
I did their car insurance for them. I had no problem. I will be doing life for them Mon. or Tues.

All they ever ask me to do are shops for a pizza place. I am sick of pizza.

I have done car&life insurance. Also done many, many credit unions. Yes, some things get lost in translation. Only one guy I could totally not understand. I think their reports are pretty much quick and easy. They pay well and on time.
I am sticking with them. Susan

I worked with DSG for many years, but now they're using call centers to all their shoppers. I've since stopped working with them mainly because of this. You can't understand them and they don't seem to understand what you're trying to tell them. They'll schedule you a shop, put you on hold and then come back to the phone and tell you you can't do it because of some unknown reason.

They are a legit company and I enjoyed them when I was able to speak directly to someone in their office, which is in Irvine, CA. Good luck to you if you decide to stay.

I did a pizza shop in February, never had any follow up. Still haven't been paid. Not sure when they do, but it's under 90 days so I won't worry about it for now.
I shopped with them until they outsourced their scheduling to India. I haven't taken a single pizza shop that they call me about weekly. They seem to think that a place that's is an hour from my house is worth $10.00 plus meal reimbursement, and it's not even the whole meal. I think it's a large pizza and two drinks. If I'm driving an hour from my house, I'm going to get more than a large pizza and a couple of drinks.
I did an online life insurance shop for them at the beginning of the month and never heard anything back. I didn't have to give my social or any personal information though other than my date of birth. The report was pretty easy.

Good company to work with you, you just need to report your shops on time or they disappear. If you want to speak to someone in the US, there is a local 800 number where you can get someone from the home office, on your assignment page.
I am just interested in the outsourcing/call center thing. Does this mean that they only schedule by phone? How is this cheaper or more efficient? Are Many MSCs going this route? None that I deal with.
Just did an insurance shop for them. I haven't heard anything since my report was submitted. Do they provide feedback and how quickly to they pay? Thanks.
^The instructions for the shop I just submitted said they will pay in 30-42 days.

You're welcome.

I just want to add that I also find their employees to be very difficult to understand.

I have no respect for a company that has outsourced American Jobs...

They use to be a GREAT company to work for. I would deal 2-3 specific schedulers only since they knew how I would take last minute shops that people canceled. I haven't worked for them over a year since they moved their scheduling to INDIA, and they refuse to be honest! My last shop was the first time I had a person from INDIA, I screwed up my shop, because I COULD NOT understand her. And the read of a list of instructions but are CLUELESS when you ask questions. They just go back a re-read the instructions OVER..
I refuse to work with them until they bring their sceduling back to the states. I flat out asked one of the schedulers on the stateside, if they moved their schedulers to INDIA I was told no . That they had some new company changes. Yet every time after that I would only recieve calls from schedules form INDIA. Sorry I won't work with a company who lies to their shoppers.

It's sad, because they really use to be a wonderful company to work for and very fun shops.!!
I just got a call from a scheduler from India from DSG during dinnertime, which is pretty annoying. Lately the majority of my incoming calls on my landline are either outsourced msc schedulers or scam phone calls (you want to buy medicine). So...I've taken to answering the landline, "Fifth Precinct". The scheduler from India didn't get it, so I said again, "This is the Fifth Precinct", and he said, "That's okay." lol

I really don't have any problems with this company, other than understanding the verbal instructions from them. They will call you from a call center (usually in India) and read from a script for 5 minutes in describing the instructions, which isn't terrible yet it depends on who you are talking with. Sometimes they can be understood clearly, sometimes not. All the while, the written instructions are very clear and the company pays on time.
They called me a month ago about doing an insurance shop for them. I use one of the companies they were shopping so I ended up not being eligible. A little later on someone else called about the same shop. the next day a third person called. I finally got them to stop calling by yelling at them. Then just this week I got a call about the same shop. The next day another call. I had to yell at them again to stop calling me about this shop since I am not eligible. Very frustrating. BTW: They always call around dinner time. Also, you really can't have a conversation with them because it is hard to understand them; and they just know how to read from a script IMHO.
It was not their fault but one of their overseas reps. called me mid-morning and woke me up from a deep sleep. I didn't go to sleep until about 7 AM and they called about three hours later. I didn't turn my phone off because I was expecting an important call today.

Sleep deprivation + hay fever = bumbling bee.

Every time something like this happens, I wonder whether I should ask for no phone calls or even deactivate my account. However, I almost always do not because I don't want to burn bridges. Who knows? Perhaps DSG will abandon the overseas call center concept or get new shops that are more attractive?
I have had the same problem. The caller was always a female who spoke in a Chinese or Japanese accent. I could not understand a word she was saying. Then she hung up. She called again next day, asking me to do the same shop for another company. She could not understand my questions and would just read and read and read. I was frustrated . I had already signed up the shop she was telling me about. Anyways, I did shop for DSG and was paid on time as promised.
I receive 5 calls one right after another same lady left a message each time with my name you would think she would of thought about it after the second or third call. I finished my shop got in my car phone rings again, this time I answer I could not understand a word she said other than check your shop log it will be there for you. I stated I didn't want the shop I know she had no clue what I said to her. I come home and check thinking please don't be any shops listed on there not one but three shops I do not want. So now to email these people to have them removed should be fun. Do they think if they put it on our logs we will give in and just do them? Does anyone know anyone I should email to have these removed? I don't want them to turn into three flakes, but I'm not doing the shops.
I see there are some of you peeps that do not care that DSG is sending American jobs overseas. Maybe you will take an interest when its your job...:p

I don't know what to say about this Mr. computer

The other day I phoned Telus (Canadian phone company) about a mistake on my bill. The person I spoke to was in Arizona. Should I be upset about that?

This is one example but not an isolated incident.

But jobs in Arizona are still not here in Alberta.

I'm just saying, the whole thing about where jobs are is a complicated issue. I honestly don't have the answers. A lot of people are in Alberta because there are few good jobs in Atlantic Canada. In many cases their families are back home and missing them. Many branches of my family tree came from elsewhere, it's hard not to care about the rest of the world.
