Shadow Shopper Questions

Back in 2006, I used shadow shopper and got lots of shops per month, until I stopped MSing to take on another job. Back then, they were legit and always free.

Last Fall when I started to get back into signing up with companies, I have not been able to find any trustable review on if SS is still legit.

Anyone know if SS is trustable now or not?

Thanks,

Karen

They still seem legit... but why would you need to pay them when you can get the info free from the MSPA website AND find companies and jobs here? In addition, you will receive emails from the companies after you have signed up for them.. After they realize that you are back in the market and MSing your calls will come again as well!!
I wasn't sure if they were MSPA or not. They also have a free signup. If they are just like MSPA and not something else, then I won't bother.
Shadow Shopper claims to find jobs available in your area. On the free setting they tell you a job is available but not tell you which company is offering that job.
They only showed a couple jobs in my area, and by the information they did provide, I was pretty sure I was already signed up with those companies.
They sent several e-mails a day inviting me to sign up for the gold level free for 2 weeks, but I decided not to.
Jeff-

I cancelled my membership with Shadow Shopper after 45 days. While it was fine initially to find out about shops, and get signed on to mystery shopping company's I decided I didn't want to spend my money giving it back to them. I can get signed on for free with the same companies that are listed on Shadow Shopper.

FYI.....

Jhi
I signed up with then because I did not know I could find shop for free, I also did my certification through them. I had no problem with them only that I found out I do not need to pay to find Mystery shop. so I cancelled my membership with them.
I personally do not care to pay the crazy amount each month that they want, but they do showcase some demonstration type jobs that I do not see on the boards. I do find it a little insulting that they offer a free signup, but it is useless without paying the monthly fee. If the fee was $4.95 (which was what I paid for the trial), I might consider it worth the investment and then take the tax deduction. If you have a trial offer available, it is worth the $4.95 to check it out. Just be aware that these are not strictly mystery shopping assignments, and when you sign up you need to cancel before the paypal deduction for the following month if you decide it is not for you. One other thing-when I first signed up, I was confusing them with another company called Shadow Agency, which is also a legitimate msc that I have worked for.
in 2006 I was working exclusively for Shadow Shopper, and they were free, then. I guess they weren't getting enough business? I won't waste my money. I waste enough money in gas milage.
Try Jobslinger....it gives you at least some of the jobs in your area and can get you started figuring out some of the companies with the most jobs in your area.
I did the Shadow Shopper trail for 4.95. It was helpful because it showed me some MSCs and merchandising companies I didn't know about. However, I did cancel before the the renewal for 9.95 was due. Just a heads up they send alot of emails. I must have gotten around 50 a day that first week.

Floating around like a feather hoping the wind will set me down somewhere awesome.
