EPMS...help me with my "love and anything but love" relationship with them.

It only takes a few people to screw it up for everyone. That's probably why EPMS has such redundant reports - to make sure you have your story straight. They probably had a few reports that were PFA'd and had to do something to get the shoppers to do it right. Like Cettie, I can write a lot about very little, so it works for me. Plus, I can do it while watching the DVR programs I missed while shopping. Since it's all the same stuff, I just have to rewrite different adverbs and adjectives about the same thing. I prefer making my $35-$50 this way rather than eating at the "arches" 3x/day for 2-3 days straight to make the same amount (I did the math after another post in a different thread). To each his own - that's what makes this job so right for so many.

Yep, that's why we are having to get more POVs and take more pics and ask ridiculous questions. We have to do more than necessary to prove we were there and not in a coma or trance during the visit. Annoying.

I don't mind writing relevant narrative. I have a tendency to go on a bit more than some. It's just the repetitive or redundant that annoys me.

And you're right about mystery shopping having multiple niches for different types of shoppers. It's the variety that appeals to so many.

I love this message board! I had thought about taking a shop from them, but after reading this thread, I couldn't hit "delete" fast enough on the email from them. I recently had a nightmare shop from a different MSC that I spent a total of over 10 hours doing the shop and report. NEVER AGAIN!!! I will glady take the $15 shops that take me a total of 45 minutes!

Thanks everybody for your thoughts and opinions, it is truly helpful in guiding me in my shop selections.
I have had several shops where I had trouble reaching the target. One, in particular, where I was told the target didn't work on Saturday. I eventually got permission from the scheduler to ask for the target and was told that she ONLY worked on Saturday. I have also had others where I was told an incorrect schedule for the target. My theory is that the clients don't know when their employees are actually working. Most of the time, though, I don't have a lot of trouble with reaching the target. I do agree that the reports are way too long. I have cut and pasted, and not had my report rejected.
Not all employers don't know when their employees are working. For some apartment shops with another company I was provided the schedules of all the targets a couple of weeks prior. For a trip including targeted storage facilities, same thing.

It is beyond me why EPMS and/or their clients play the games. My most aggravating was getting a hold of "the target" after being given permission, going to the appointment and receiving a business card at the end of the interaction. While the first name was the same, the last name was different. I contacted EPMS, they contacted the client. The client told them my original target no longer worked there. Really? Not one flipping person could have done that before? The good news is, I threw a hissy fit and, as if by magic, they came up with a work order to shop the agent I had seen and pay me.

Never try to teach a pig to sing. It's a waste of your time and it really annoys the pig.
Yep, it's nasty stuff (at least the ordering requirement food). I wouldn't even give it away.

Oh, they aren't always that bad, especially if you have speedy typing skills. You should try one before you completely knock it, especially if it is a "no specifi target" shop. If you have nothing else going on on a certain day, $40 is better than no $$.
