Thx for the quick response.....I'll try, I have a Nikon and the angles are what concerns me.

Set the pizza on your open oven door to get a good shot of the top. Set on oven rack to get good side shot.

I always put my pizza on the floor to take the shots and they come out really good. I prop the back of he pizza box up with the shop ID and storfe ID to take the side view pictures,. I never had a problem with my pictures. At first it seemed like it took forever to get the pictures, but now I get them done in short order. I always take quite a fiew more than is required then pick the best out of those to submit. Good Luck.
I put the pizza on the seat of a chair from my dining room. It makes it very easy to get the angles right.
the most important tip of all: don't eat the pizza
throw it away. Cardboard taste better

I'm bringing it down to my Starbucks and "sharing".....I was hoping it was a good one though!!

Live consciously....
I use a cooler for the overhead shots...keeps the lid flat to hold the ID # while taking the pics and is a good height to be sure I've got the right angle. I use the counter for the side shots. I've done at least 50 of these (my kids love PJ's) and have never had any problem with my pics. I've done these for 2 different MSCs.

They have the worst crust of any pizza place.
That is exactly why I don't bothergrinning smiley

I agree; I don't bother. I wouldn't eat that pizza even if it were free ..... and if you have to do a report and take pictures, it isn't even free....... maybe if a big fee were attached to it, I might take the pictures and throw it away ......
They are a lot easier now that they don't require as many photos. Now they just have top, side, and a pic from the top with two of the pieces flipped over. I have never had one rejected thank goodness, but I take about 4 shots for each view to be safe.

I happen to love the pizza. Good crust, lots of cheese, sauce tastes good. And I grew up in Chicago...good pizza capital of the world :> I'm not saying it's the same caliber as Geno's East or, in Champaign, Papa Del's, but it's better than Domino's.
Guess I'll have to judge for myself, Monday is the big day....will report in.

get the camera directly over the pizza. If it looks angled at all they will kick it back. Take lots of pictures so you have a back up if they reject. Digital film is cheap these days. You can get a multi pizza special then charge the MSC for the full price of a single pizza. The second pizza or other products are not restricted and you do not report on them.

That explains it. Here thin crust is king. I also prefer a wood fired pizza.

Thin/crispy crust reigns supreme in NYC as well

it amazes me that ppl order chain pizza in major

I wonder if the quality varies from each location? I know that some other chains have inconsistency between locations (like Applebee's). I am not a huge fan of Papa John's. It's got a kind of sweet tasting crust and sauce that I am not too fond of. And I do like a crispier crust. I get it for my stepkids because they would eat cardboard if you put peppperoni and cheese on it, and I will only do the shops if they are bonused. There are a few locally owned pizzarias here that I adore though!

The Papa Johns locations in my area produce a decent pizza. I guess they do not rush thru the process like some of the Yankee joints!...winking smiley

Shopping Bama and parts of Georgia.
I'm still learning 24/7.
Quality definitely varies from location to location. I've shopped 6 different locations and I have a favorite store for service AND food. There is one I only do because the MSC gives me largo bonuses because no one else seems to want to do it. I'm not a big pizza fan anyway, but my bf and my daughters are, so I take the pics and do the short report while they eat.
I have shopped many PJs for two different companies at many locations around here. I honestly don't care for their pizza but grandkids do - so I give them the pizza.
I performed a shop for them last week and they rejected because crust did not show all the way around. Then the MSC sent me an email to redo the shop. EXCUSE ME. NOT! Never again!
Once again, you fail to do the shop correctly then come here to complain that the shop was rejected. Those instructions are VERY explicit about centering the pizza and making sure the whole thing shows. But you know better, decide the rules don't matter, then complain when your shop is rejected.

Why do you mystery shop at all, Cheryljane? I just don't get it.

I pray it does not occur that the last thing I did before I died was vacuum the house or eat broccoli.
I have a tall can (holds dog food) that I use. I forgot the ID so went in the other room to get and when I came back, the dog had taken a slice of pizza and was eating it.
who is cheryljane?
