Nationwide Services Group

Is anyone else having any trouble being paid? I haven't had a problem in the past and they usually pay on the 25th of the following month but that was a month ago and my payment is still sitting as 'pending'. Anyone know what's going on?

Yes - it pains me because I hate when a good company goes bad. I've worked with Nationwide since 2008 with no problems.

Do a search for Nationwide using all dates. There have been discussions since Fall 2012 of shoppers not being paid. One reported being out a couple of thousand dollars. I am out about $150 total, from two shops, one early October and one December 1st. They have been reported to MSPA, and Dan Denston of MSPA communicated with Nationwide. While Dan was able to get responses from Nationwide to the unpaid shoppers, all the responses said was "We're working on it. Thanks for your patience."

At this point, they appear not to be paying or responding to shopper inquiries. Apparently some shoppers have reported them to BBB, because they now have an "F" rating because they have not responded to the BBB. Their Sassie site is still active, but they currently have no jobs posted in the US. I know they lost a big client (the one I used to shop for them is now shopped by Bare), and that may have started their downward spiral. I should have been suspicious when Laura Unger, their long-time scheduler, left the company last fall to "do something different." I have been told privately that several shoppers have reported the non-payment issues to Nationwide's clients, which probably resulted in Nationwide losing additional clients.

It looks to me as though anyone who has not been paid will not be paid. Sigh. This will be the first time I've been burned.
Thanks Austinmom. That's very disappointing and I will not work for them again. Fortunately I'm only out $40.00. What really ticks me off about this and with the Freeman Group is that you know they got paid from the client. I was burned by Freeman too!
Unforturnately, this has been going on for a bit. They don't respond to emails, and you can not reach anyone on the phone. I had to badger them daily via email to get my $20.00 payment. I would highly advise others not do business with this company.
I agree - DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH NATIONWIDE.

But it appears that it won't be a problem - I don't think they have any clients left and I'm not seeing any jobs posted. I think they are on the rocks.
You are not alone and looks like I'm not either. I have not been paid on a Feb 2013 shop. I've emailed and called several times only to reach voice mail each time.
I'm having the same problem. I was paid reliably by them for over three years. Then, last October, I did a shop for them that was somewhat inconvenient for me. However, the scheduler emailed and asked and offered a bonus so I did it. I have still not been paid for that one and I can't seem to get in touch with anyone!
This MSC was reviewed in Issue 12 of the Mystery Shopper Magazine. You can learn more about them here: [www.mysteryshoppermagazine.com].

A good reason for me NOT to work with KSS. During the time Nationwide was going down, Laura went out of her way to ask for help from shoppers she knew to get the shops scheduled for Nationwide, many of which went unpaid. A couple of shoppers were left being owed a lot of money. It was the first time for me to be stiffed by a MSC. I was very disappointed in Laura as had worked with her since 2009.

Maybe it's just me, but I have no respect for a scheduler who knowingly schedules shops that will not be paid.
