About Face

This company did not pay me for a shop a few months ago and I just discovered it now. They said I did not respond to emails although I did. I am wondering if maybe I did not get or see the last email, if in fact there was one. I tried to write to them about it, but to no avail.

I've had to inquire a few times about payments over the last two years. Have always received payment, with apologies. Regarding their emails not reaching you though, that's not been an excuse/reason to me. Did they say they emailed you, following submission of your shop asking for more info? If so, it's possible payment was held up pending clarification of shop details from you.

There's a member in this forum who has said she can be contacted with payment issues. Her name is dalejrfan5874 and she can be reached at heather.stokes@aboutfacecorp.com.
Angellique, the other thing you might check on is if you are using a Yahoo email address they may be having trouble getting through to you. If you are using Yahoo a number of companies are experiencing having their emails blocked so it is the better part of wisdom to change over to a gmail account for shopping.
I am still using Yahoo and receive AF email. I have had problems with another MSP's email reaching me and will heed the warnings here, changing my shops over to gmail in a month or two when I've got the time. While it's a task I'm not looking forward to, it will also result in an update to my profiles, helping keep my status active.
And add the new email address to your Paypal account. I understand you can have multiple email addresses with it.
You can have many different emails on your paypal. I have different ones for different reasons...Purchases under my real email name that are done online and another for when I sued to buy stuff on ebay, and then from MSC's that all correspondences is in my MS email account.

They paid me and I am sorry, I was wrong, it was Second to None, they said they emailed me, but I did answer all emails. This was a December job. I wonder if it has to do with Yahoo and was wondering that also as another company just wrote that Yahoomail is not going through. So I guess I am out of luck, but About Face paid me! Not the other one though and I will not get paid as I did not receive the email, but why don't they call?
Some companies call, most companies email. Some companies call if you don't respond to the email, some just kill the shop and reassign it. A mess I had with Second to None emailed for clarification, which they got, and they neither called nor emailed when they rejected and it was only by accident that I found the shop had been rejected. It was rejected for 'requirements' that were not any part of their written or emailed job instructions. Had I not stumbled over the rejection I would have never known or been able to contest it vigorously.
STN does not tell you if a shop is rejected. They require you to keep checking the site for accepted, rejected, and clarification remarks, though they do send email with the ones needing clarification.

They now have the accepted or rejected classification of shops in a fairly prominent place. Before it was pretty well buried in the site. So at least that is an improvement.
I never shopped for them when it was buried. They finally needed a new shopper last march, and acknowledged my application. I had one shop mistakenly rejected as *I* input the date incorrectly, even though I did the shop on the correct date. I saw it and emailed the scheduler the receipt, and she fixed it and got it accepted. I only looked there as it was not in accepted or pending. I do think they should email a rejected shop notice. I sense they are trying to save themselves some pain at the expense of the shopper. But of course! :-)

Just as a side note, I use gmail via outlook and my blackberry, and I have some emails plain and simple never make it to either, but if I log on to gmail they are in my inbox just sitting there, not marked as spam.

Keep that in mind if you yahoo or gmail, could be a similar problem.
I use my ISP email, and the ones from MSC's never get caught in spam, even when they send 20 in a day and I wish they would! :-)

Flash when you contested did they care, because with me they did not although I sent all they needed when asked and did not receive any other emails. Not fair I don't think not to get paid and I am still very mad about it.
My contesting was with STN and regarded a 'requirement' that was not listing in their shop instructions. After many, many email attempts at contact I finally got through to someone (not my scheduler who only after the fact sent me an email of 'you should have contacted me'--duh, I tried lady, about 8 times and you never responded) who did indeed get me paid and reimbursed for the shop. Based on poor communication from them, I no longer accept jobs from STN.
