STN fine dining shops

Well did one. I have worked for them forever. But Got a huge clarification notice which I sent right off. Question is they want me to confirm exact times re when order was placed and received, appetizer same, etc. Now I did my best but as a shopper with a guest I cannot be writing down exact times as we are being served. Your experience?

Thanks for the responses so far. Sorry to sound stupid. Is this some kind of mobile DVR.? Yes STN has fine dining in my area, but it is because they are in Ann Arbor MI and have shops here in Toledo for a fine dining chain. Hey If anyone is nearby I am in need of guests.

If you text yourself when things arrive, you will have a time stamp.

I just slip my recorder in my pocket and record the entire service. It has a clock so I know the times that each event occurred. If the MSC want's elapsed times, it's easy to just use the stopwatch on my cell phone to record the elapsed times.

It just occurred to me, we have two meanings for DVR, Digital Voice Recorder or Digital Video Recorder. In this case, I'm talking about a voice recorder.

I do write down exact times even when I have a guest. When I am taking a guest, they all know it is a shop bec. I have to tell them ahead of time due to any ordering requirements etc. I don't want the shop not to be paid and I don't want to veto any ordering that my guest does in front of the waitstaff. I always pretend that my guest is telling me something that I need to jot down and write it down. No one notices. I don't think it is difficult.

If I don't capture the exact moment of each order and arrival point, I can usually find a clue right on the survey form about what the client considers to be too long (Did your appetizer arrive within 10 minutes? If not, how long?) reduce it by 20% or so, and everybody gets what they want.

I have done dining shops with a guest. My guest always knew I was "shopping." We'd pretend we were working on a shopping list or something, so I'd have something on which I could write "cryptic notes" to myself.

I've never seen any fine dining shops here with STN. Are they a new client?

I (no question) do restaurants alone much better than with a guest. I'd go to the restroom and write down timings,
or call home and leave myself a message, as you must give correct timings...I don't have an Iphone yet. Sometimes,
its easy to get involved with a friend and forget a minute or two....naughty naughty!! Have a lunch everyday next week alone (except the 4th).

They don't do fine dining in my area, either. Only the office store, and some video game age checking, and the healthcare seminar things. The donut shop shows up in my area, but the nearest one to me is about 50 miles away! If I had a route up there, I'd try one.

I wish they still had the sandwich place.

I do the same thing as Mr. Bond, except that I tuck the voice recorder in my bra. :-) I prefer to dine alone, but am trying to get away from fast food shops because of my health/diet, and many of the nicer places require a companion. I am very happy to find the ones where I can order a steak and veggies and eat alone, even if I have to sit at the bar. That being said, when my dining companion is "on", he is great with helping me with heights, ages, etc. It's hard to work around his schedule, though, and I'd love to find another dining companion in my area as well.

i have an app on my smart phone which I use to record my shops. Alternatively, I use another app to take quick note. Sometimes I set up notes in advance like appetizer, entree, dessert, then just go in and list the times.

Yes, even when you are on a fine dining shop, exact times are usually a must. I've seen so many people texting, even in nice restaurants, that it doesn't look odd to do that. I also enlist the boyfriend in tasks. I much prefer to do the fine dining with him rather than alone.
