Has anyone ever shopped for Ardent Services?

I was wondering if anyone here ever shopped for Ardent Services?

They have some yummy Mexican Food shops...

Just wondering how they treated you, if they paid on time? I am registered with them but never accepted a shop yet.

The operate in a different way than many MSCs. They have been discussed in great detail. Do a search for "Ardent" and put in "all dates" and you can see all that was discussed. After reading it all, you may have additional questions.
Yep. I shopped for them for over a year. doing 2-4 shops per month. They mainly do Chipotle shops. They treated me great, paid on time and quickly. Reports are huge however, asking the same questions in multiple places, and takes a while to do the reports.

Because their reports are like this, they pay you a flat $25 and say that you are being paid for your time - both to do the shop and the report.

I quit taking their shops because I was just getting tired of the reports. Every time I had one due, I would dread doing it.

When I did my training I remember them saying if you did not accept a shop for 3 mos running they would deactivate you. If this is still true and you want to stay with them I would advise taking a shop soon. I assume you did their training so you know what to expect. They are very nice to their shoppers.
They are extremely nice to their shoppers. I have had only wonderful interactions with both editors and schedulers. They are very helpful and comments are written in the nicest way possible. It is always constructive and I really can't say enough about how much I like this MSC. With that said the reports are long and a bit much but I have gotten accustomed to them and I don't mind anymore. I love the food, schedulers and editors. Have not found another MSC where I can say that.

I'm doing the training for them this week. I kind of have the feeling that I am going to dread doing their reports after a couple times too. Does anyone know if you can eventually get other shop locations?

Once you are in the website after training you can specify the locations you are interested in shopping at. You do not need to do the location where you had your training if that location does not work for you. At my training people came from all over the city and although that location worked for me, I think I was the only one who lived close enough to it.
As far as I know they only have this one restaurant chain although there are always rumors around so maybe in other cities they have more clients.

Doug -
You need to edit your post to remove the client name.
The reports are not as bad as stated. One simply complies the comments from short narrative answers into two long paragraphs at the end of the report, with a couple of additional comments thrown in. After about 3 reportds, you should be able to sail through the report in about 30 minutes, unless you type reallllly slowly.

Based in MD, near DC
Shopping from the Carolinas to New York
Have video cam; will travel

Poor customer service? Don't get mad; get video.

I guess I am realllllllllllly slow. Every time I try compiling my comments I get comments back from them. They have never dinged me but I get comments saying I should do this or that and the next time I do this or that and get a comment that I should do what I had done the time before. And when I string my comments together they tell me that I should simply do a flow. I don't get a warm and fuzzy feeling when I get those comments but evidently my reports are still okay. I have even copied and pasted whatever was usable from an "excellent" previous report just making slight changes and gotten comments the next time. As with most companies the different editors seem to want different things.
Anyway, I only once beat 2 hours! If I could do the report in 30 min I would not decide to quit every month...although I keep doing the job.
I am in between sandyf and walesmaven in that it consistently takes me about an hour to do each report and that is only because I do lots of copying and pasting. I have no idea how it can take someone only half hour to do this report and I type at a decent speed. I know that if I only spent a half hour on the report, I would get all kinds of comments. At an hour, I rarely get any comments other than a thanks for the report.
I hated their reports and despite the fact that they were very nice in how they critiqued my reports, I decided that there was no way that I was ever going to do a report that met their expectations. Besides that the food has tons of salt, calories and gives me heartburn.
well of course it is a given that you have to like the food which i find is true for any food shop. i don't love the salt either, but just try to eat salt free the rest of the day. with the exception of the salt, i do like the food though.
They have two clients. The other restaurant is also a fast casual and serves food in a similar manner. I just completed my first shop for the other client and thought the food was great. The report was shorter and no dreaded phone call like the Mexican shop!
The reports take a while to write, and I too dread doing them. But, they are extremely nice, and the scheduler on my side
of the world, could not be more helpful.

I have only seen one client on their job board. Is the other one a national chain or a regional chain? A shorter report and no phone call sounds good to me. :>winking smiley I just have to hope that I like the food. LOL

thanks, guess it is not in my region. hmmm better than Chipolte......
I really like the Mexican food but I tried the new Sofritas this month and decided to give it a pass in the future. The food I find great...the report too long for the money but, as I said, I am addicted and cannot bow out. The staff at the msc are all so nice so I keep saying I will do it one more month. I also find it nice to have this job each and every month without having to search the boards and beat other people out. They just show up in my inbox like clockwork and I am allowed to decline without consequences.
I just finished my last report yesterday for the Ardent Mexican food client. I too hated and dreaded the reports - even though I was able to get through them in about 30 minutes, it was the redundancy that really frustrated me. I finally decided after doing them for 3+ years, maybe I would just go eat their food on my own dime. smiling smiley
