a closer look

Is a closer look what would be considered an "upscale" msc?

For some reason I get the idea it is more champagne than beer . . .

Do you mean do they have more upscale type shops than others? I would say they have a mix of all sorts of shops. Some of their dining shops are quite fine but they have convenience stores too on occasion. They have long stay hotel shops (which aren't typically upscale) along with some pretty nice hotels.

As an MSC themselves they rarely pay a fee above reimbursement so I guess it's up to you to decide if you consider them an upscale MSC.

If it makes a difference in all of my shopping years I have never categorized MSCs in this fashion.

I've heard that they have upscale hotel shops, but the only shops I have found from them in my area have been not-so-nice extended stay hotels and a rundown movie theater. Although they certainly had enough followup questions on my shops that you would think that they were upscale shops. I took the rundown ones hoping to get the nicer ones, but so far I haven't been impressed.
What is "up-scale" about ACL is that their schedulers are some of the best, and the most helpful, in the industry, IMHO. Nearly all of their editors are great, although some shoppers have run into some that they though very picky. I have always found that my schedulers would stand up for me if a new editor got really crazy, though, so this has become one of my very favorite MSC.

BTW, once you are established with them, the schedulers will work with you to help out when you need hotels and dining to support a long route.

I agree with walesmaven, ACL's schedulers are wonderful to deal with. And so are the editors! They are one of my favorite MSC's.
I certainly would not categorize their hotel shops as "upscale," unless you are fond of hair on the pillows, mold in the shower and a television circa 1971.
They have 99% restaurants here, and the (uugh) hotel stay, that's all....I think most of their restaurants are from good to fine. They don't have FF, if that's what you mean. I personally got tired of them as they are all in the city and I'm in the
subs. Driving 60 miles rd. trip and not getting reimbursed isn't working for me any longer. They are a nice company, and
I do work for them in Vegas, totally adore the Vegas scheduler, where pay also includes a fee, and I love those shops. I really haven't seen any high end hotels lately, but I do consider them an "MS Boutique", as opposed to Market Force or Cori.

Live consciously....
The hotels that I do for them are 99% mid-range hotels that are part of big hotel "families." I have very seldom run into cleanliness issues at these. The longer term stay hotels are an entirely different kettle of fish. Let's not confuse the two, as ACL does plenty of hotels that I would not hesitate to recommend and would gladly return to. The hotel chain rewards points, especially when you pay with the hotel-affiliated credit card are the real payoff for ACL shops. The long-stry chain do not have rewards clubs, so I leave those to folks who are actually i need of accomodation in order to make a trip or a shopper route.

I just searched the rest of my state to see if I could find anything else here. I did -- men's "adult themed" restaurants. And you wonder why I find them anything but "upscale".
