sqm STEP tests

Hi

I have tried the other approaches that include printing out a copy and answering it that way as well as creating a spreadsheet, but it doesn't appear to be working.
Does anyone else have any hints to complete these?

Thanks

Which STEP are you on? It seems like such a feat to get each one done!

When I was stumped on one, I kept track of all my answers and marked the questions that I wasn't confident with. Those were the first ones that I would change the next go round. So far I have been lucky and got through the first three levels with only one or two incorrect on my first attempt, so it's been easy to narrow down which question to go back to. It is quicker though to go through it again when you kept track of all of your previous answers and zero in on the questions you are not confident with.

Sorry I can't provide any great ideas! I may have to come back and check some more ideas out as I progress through the rest of the STEPS!

The tests and questions change every time it seemed. I also printed out and doubled checked answers. They really are hard and I think not always correct answers. Or questions that could have two possibles. The problem is then when you have a test with multiples like that. It took a VERY long time to get them all done. And no real advantage that I can see.
The tests will be different. Print out ALL the paperwork and go from there. The questions do change.
I did my steps 6 years ago. Still have my printed question and answers. I guess they have change since then.

Sorry for reviving a dead thread but I'm stuck on one of the tests. They have you going between many different documents to find the answers (some are not even there and require you to check out the site). I am going for my second attempt at STEP 2 tomorrow. I keep only getting 21 out of 25 right. From the little I have been able to read from the WWW, it seems many get stuck at STEP 2 as well. Very excited to do some work with this company when the STEPS are fully completed. smiling smiley

Okay, I just did step 2. First pass said I got 23 out of 25. I changed two answers. Now I have 24 out of 25. How can that be?

Ah..... one of the answers I changed needed to be changed but I did not pick the right answer........

Haha! That very thing happened to me with another MSC and it introduces you to advanced mathematics, as you start calculating, "if I change the answer to Q22 and to answer Q25...." smiling smiley

I intend to live forever. So far, so good.
I tried these steps about a year ago and never got back to them. Here is my question...all this for jobs that end up paying minimum wage or less? I do understand that if I happen to get a free or reduced price ride to somewhere far away it will probably work out to much more than minimum wage but still my mind sometimes boggles at the requirements to be "hired" in this relatively low paying field for some companies and for others you basically need to be breathing to get hired...well actually they do not even check to see if you are breathing.
The shop they have in my area sounds like something I would enjoy doing but it's a hotel shop so I have to be Step 8 or 9 to do it. If Step 2 is this much of a pain, I can't imagine wanting to crawl through seven more tests.

I did these steps up to step 7. Then I wanted to apply for a hotel job and it wouldn't assign it unless I had level 8 or 9? I forget. So I tried step 8. Got 24 out of 25. Tried again and got 23 out of 25. At least I've proved one answer right. lol

Then my two tries for the day were done so I put it away. I didn't get back to it and now the job is gone. sad smiley

But now that I know there are jobs saved for someone who's done those steps, I will get the last ones done.

Anyway, that's how I did it for each step. Changed one answer at a time until I passed.

That is true. I am mainly interested in their flight shops since I am going to EU next year.

Today I got 24 out of 25 right so I'll be going through each question that I am not sure about and change the answer until I get it right..

I'm 5 working on 6 now. They seem to always have one or two questions whose answers are not in the reading material. I find it really annoying that they only let you try twice in a day. Usually after two tries I know what that last answer is but having to wait 24 hours to try again is a pain in the butt.

I'm looking at the question that asks how long should you be in the store. Choice of "at least" 15 min, 30 min, 1 hour, etc. The only thing the instructions say is to *plan* to spend 30 minutes in the store although most evaluations don't take that long. It never gave a minimum time. I tried answering "there is no specific time" because there is no specific time. I tried 15 minutes. But I'm pretty certain I can point to my answer for the other 24 questions in the reading material. So I'm guessing the real answer is 30 minutes, but that is not actually correct per the instructions, since the question says "should stay" and the instruction say "plan to stay."

Went with 30 and passed.

Sigh.

I'm level 6 now. Will try for 7 tomorrow.

Well, I made it through. There were a couple of really bad questions that were not answered in the materials. I had to do two rounds (four passes over two days) on step 7 before I made the right guesses.

But ironically, the only level I got right on the first try was the Step 9 level.

So I am a Step 9 shopper now, and just watch -- they won't have another shop in my state for another two years.

Good luck to the rest of you who are going through this.

Seven days for nine levels. I got three of those levels today; all the others took me more than one day to do them.
