Deductions

Thanks to this forum, I no longer get invested in the ratings I receive as long as my overall average enables me to continue to self-assign.

Also, from information gleaned here, I feel pretty comfortable understanding that rejected shops, generally, result from not following the specific guidelines. If you're not at fault, at least you have grounds on which to argue your case. (To date, I haven't had a shop rejected, but I know that's an accident waiting to happen!)

What I AM concerned about is MSCs that deduct from your fee. I mean, this sounds like a completely subjective exercise and I would definitely feel like I was being "nickeled and dimed". I would feel powerless and would be livid.

Are there MSCs notorious for questionable and/or frequent deductions from payment or bonus?

That's what I thought, too, however, I reread the info on their webiste and saw, "You may click on a row with a (check mark) to see adjustments (shop incentives or deductions for late submission, no shop confirmation, rewrite fees, etc.) made to your compensation."

""Rewrite fees, ETC"???

Goodbye BestMark.

At least they list the exact reasons for deductions on the bottom of the job info page. Luckily I've never had any deductions from them and I've done more than 100 shops for them. *knock on wood*
EPMS will ding you for any little ol' thing they can find. I think their editors get bonuses for finding reasons to make deductions!
While I haven't been "dinged" for errors, I recently noticed my pay from PerformaLogics was less than promised by several dollars. When I asked about it, I was told it was due to the exchange rate from Canada to U.S. at the time of deposit. Because the pay was listed as "$___," I assumed that was U.S. dollars ... apparently not.
