I used to enjoy working for Second to None

My shop was rejected because I shopped outside of required time range.

"The event starts at 10:30 AM. You must arrive within 30 minutes AFTER the scheduled start time (NOT before)."

The shop times I entered were 11:05am-11:20am which caused the report to be rejected.

I didn't arrive at the shop EXACTLY 30 minutes after the scheduled start time because I was given an incorrect address and I spent 5 mins. finding the correct entrance which was around the corner from the address I was given.

I filed an appeal approx. two weeks ago according to the instructions in the email that I was sent regarding the rejection and I haven't heard anything. I've sent several emails to the help desk and replied to the email address that sent me info regarding the rejection.

This is ridiculous! I've never had a shop rejected by STN and I've been doing these kinds of shops for them for three years.

What the h*ll is going on?

This is sad to hear. They were one of the 1st MSC's I tried and as a new shopper they were more than helpful. I had trouble with a test and the scheduler wrote to me and offered some advice. They let me shop a nice casual dine in shop when I was fairly new. The job postings have been rather limited in my area lately though. I wish you the best with that appeal. Keep up posted.

As I interpret the instructions you are allowed to arrive anytime between 10:31 AM and 11:00 AM. I don't understand why you waited until 11:00 AM. Is there more to the story?

I had a shop rejected once because I was outside of the required shop times. I didn't notice that the shop times for weekends were different than for weekdays. It cost me $12.59 out of pocket and a $7.50 commission. I never forgot and I never did it again.
I wasn't exactly waiting for 11:00 AM, I was hoping to be there a little earlier, but I was pressed for time and when I was given the incorrect address, I spent at least five minutes trying to find the correct entrance into the building.

It would be nice if someone at STN would reply to my appeal and/or emails.
They also have hidden time requirements. The health care one is a good example. It says it is a required 20 minutes even though that is not stated. You just are required to know it. Sure!
This Msc has never jacked me around but they got my permission to remove me as a shopper! You can count their client list on one hand and they pay almost nothing.
All the shops they have in my area I'm either too old or too young for, so I just let them satisfy my sweet tooth once every 60 days.

I recently did a STN assignment with identical instructions. When I first read them, I thought, perhaps as you did, that I needed to arrive 30 minutes AFTER the start time. Thankfully, early on the day of the shop, I carefully reread the instructions and, this time, spotted the key word "within".

Unfortunately, from what you said, it appears that you DID mistakenly shop outside of the required time range.

I intend to live forever. So far, so good.
It would be more clear if the instructions were changed to read, "You must arrive no later than 30 minutes after the start time (not a second before)."

A little "kooky"

I would interpret the following:

If you arrived at 10:28 a.m., you aren't getting paid.

If you arrived at 10:31-10:58 a.m. you would be okay.

If you arrived at 11:02 a.m. you are screwed tongue sticking out smiley

Some may read it as: "I can shop this location anytime after 10:30 a.m.."
I have only done 2 bank shops for them. Everything else is low paying, but those paid pretty well. They want a lot of narrative if you don't rate every category as a 10.
Wow and double wow! That's fantastic!! Now, I like them even more than I did before, which was already quite a lot.

PS
Hopefully, they also reworded the instructions.

That's great--congrats!

They should have said: "You must shop between 10:30-11:00 am. Do not shop before 10:30 a.m. or after 11:00 a.m.. Do not shop at 10:29 a.m. or 11:01 a.m.. (there is another shop I have, that says if you shop one minute out of the time frame, you won't be paid.)

Good to know. And I agree the directions as given could have been misleading and were too easy to misread/misinterpret.
I think the instructions certainly need to be re-written, but as other posters have pointed out, they're understandable as is (they may require careful reading, but "within 30 minutes" means no later than 30 minutes after the event begins).

Seems like the biggest, and main, problem with this shop was that the OP was given incorrect location directions by the MSC, which is what caused her to be late. If the address had been right, she would have arrived on time! I can't imagine they'd reject a shop when they gave a wrong address....

Kudos for appealing, and it's great that STN has done the right thing!
