I was just assigned my first two shops with Market Viewpoint. They were both email assignments that could be done from home. After receiving the assignments via email, I then went through the process of reviewing the guidelines and confirming the shops. I then began one assignment as it started today. After making the email inquiry, I completed the sections of the report that could be done and saved it to finish later. After about an hour, I logged back into the website and noticed that my shops were gone....so I emailed "Janet" and asked what was going on. I was informed that someone else with a name very similar to my own had emailed her regarding my shops. The shops were removed from me as a result of this. I have no idea what she was talking about but it certainly was not based on any mistake that I made. I don't how they screwed it up, but they definitely did. Why would another shopper have the information on my shops??? And what are the odds that their name is almost exactly the same as mine???? Very fishy and totally unacceptable. And I basically let Janet know this and that I would not be accepting any more assignments for them.

I'm just kind of confused by the whole thing. This wasn't a SCAM was it? Is Market Viewpoint legitimate and do others have experience working with "Janet"?

I've done around 10 casual restaurant jobs for Janet @ MV. One of my current favorites.

Market View and Janet are legitimate. I have shopped with MV, and have had communication with Janet. This is bizarre, Snuffy. I would also be concerned. Maybe an error, coincidence, or maybe your identity was compromised. Maybe Market View is as innocent as you. See what you can find out.

Thanks for the replies...good to know that both MV and Janet are legitimate and others have had good experiences. It is bizarre and I'm still just confused by it. I tend to think that maybe someone with a name very similar to mine did respond about shops, and Janet just accidentally looked at my shops as my name was so close. She said that the person used a different email address than mine. My biggest concern, of course, is that my identify was somehow compromised. Although, if that was the case, I'm not sure why the identity thief would be emailing Janet about shop instructions. Either way, I thought it was about time I changed the password on my email account so that has been done. I feel a little bad about scolding Janet but I was very unhappy at the time. Never like wasting my time for free....
