I'm starting to see a pattern with this company. Twice I have written strongly worded posts on this forum about the company and twice I've had my scores drop like a lead balloon.
After posting last month about the payment issue and that I would not be working for them again, I broke down and did several of their late-night burger joint shops in places they have a hard time getting shoppers due to remoteness, especially late at night. In this case it was Barstow and Big Bear Lake. I figured I was going to be 200 feet away from the store in Big Bear, it was an easy although naseauting shop, and I know how to drive on the black ice and deal with the snow at the time of night so I took the shop. Ditto with Barstow--not the black ice and snow part--but who wants to be in Barstow at midnight if you don't have to be? I was there for other assignments so I took three up there.
Then came along an outlet shop that stayed on the board for weeks. I was going to be two stores down so I took it. Today I got the following review:
"Shop Grade: 6
Comments:
6/10. Thank you for your report, it was well done. I deducted two points for having to contact you regarding the uploaded receipt. An additional point was deducted for having some inconsistent answers, and one point for not explaining all your answers to the fullest. Otherwise it was a great report! Thank you for updating your report in a timely manner."
I've never received a 6--ever. For that matter, I believe I only have received one 7 and a couple of 8s and that was after I posted negative comments in this forum for equally stupid stuff.
Let me address their issues. Regarding the receipt, the photo was taken with a 16 mp camera. The photo was fine. I checked to be sure. The one I submitted that they accepted was just like the one they rejected and taken with the same camera. At least 75 percent of my documentation photos are taken with this camera. I use a 24 mp digital SLR for Cori's gas station because it has a date stamp and an 18 mp digital SLR for MF's gas station because it doesn't have a date stamp--in both cases because I want awesome photos and because often I'm dealing with really negative weather conditions. I even did one gas station in the pitch black and the photos and shop were accepted because they were high quality. But for other documentation I use a simple 16 mp point-and-shoot and never have complaints.
Regarding inconsistent answers (isn't that the pot calling the kettle "black," i.e., "well done," "a great report," versus "6" ), what they didn't like was that the saleperson checked back with me numerous times and gave me her undivided attention each time, which was noted in the narrative. To the question "Did the associate's attention stray for more than 15 seconds?" (paraphrased), I answered "no." They think that is inconsistent with me saying she checked back with me numerous times and gave me her undivided attention each time I needed help. I don't get it! You can't expect the only floor associate in a busy store to follow you around like a lost puppy. She did what she was supposed to do. She was an excellent associate.
As to not explaining fully, I added fluff after they asked for more. What am I supposed to report other than the facts? The facts were there in the first place.
So today I got a whole series of urgent emails from schedulers for shops in Ridgecrest, Boron, Barstow and Big Bear Lake. I hope one of you is going that way because, although I am also, I won't be making any stops at truck stops or midnight burger joints. I'm really done this time. I'm deregistering as soon as I get paid.
