Satisfaction Services Inc. Rated Evaluator

Is anyone working for this company? What is the deal with their Rated vs Non-Rated evaluator. The site says you have to pay $10 a year to be Rated. Sounds a little strange to me that a legitimate company would charge you. Can someone let me know what this is all about? Thanks!

Supposedly rated shoppers have more shops available to them. I used to shop for them from time to time but was not impressed. I did not pay to be 'rated' but have not heard shoppers getting jobs that I wanted enough to be worthwhile paying a fee to shop. I have not bothered looking at their site in some time.
I see them looking for shoppers a lot. I'm not rated and have been offered shops, but for one reason or another, never did any work for them. I don't know anyone who does shop for them, so not sure what they are like to work for. Paying to be rated does not make any sense to me. Is it not in THEIR best interests to rate the shoppers they have so they can send their bests ones out and lose their poor ones? Why should I pay for that?

Thanks Flash and dee shops for your answers. I agree with you dee shops, makes no sense to me either. If you are a company dedicated to providing the best service to your client, would you just let your shoppers "buy" their rating? Shouldn't you rate the quality of their work?

I think I will stay away from this one for now.
I was amused by one company that wanted to sell you a membership and the selling point for membership was that they paid their member shoppers first.
well you gotta admit thats a good selling point...

but to comment on the question... i just signed up for them... and i am not going to pay 10 bucks a year just to get on their preferred vip crudola whatever list... especially since 95% of the companies i have applied to dont have shops in my area...

shopping north west PA and south west ny
Guilty!

I am "rated" haven't seen any perks from it except a couple of 'savings only available to our rated evaluators' Pass, thanks...my cat doesnt need special medication at discount prices...but alas, a few months ago I paid the $10 (you may all groan and flog me...I understand.) Rookie mistake.

I have done two athletic shoe stores for them. They are reimburse only, up to $30...guess I shouldve shopped there first to see if I wanted anything or if anything was in the $30 range.....NOPE! Its more like a they are desperate for customers than need a MSer. No more, I learned my lesson.

Not recommended, and it turns out Im not really their demo as "open minded" as I am.
As 'unrated' I did a couple of glasses frame shops for them (no purchase requirement) and it was useful to learn what stores to stay away from smiling smiley The folks in the store were very hard sell for 'fashion' frames at high ticket prices when one look at me and my existing frames should have clued them in that my 'style' is less is more and frames are a utilitarian way of holding corrective lenses in front of your eyes that should not scream 'look at me' but rather become next to invisibly unremarkable.
I am an unrated shopper and it seems my phone rings off the hook. Practically as soon as I enter a report, the company calls me. I am thinking they want to tell me that my report is bad or needs clarification. However every call is a solicitation for another shop. I have turned down two shops recently as I told them I do not have that much capital to put out for some of their not-very-desirable dine-out shops.
I just love shopping for them!

Their car wash shops are great. They reimburse me in a timely fashion for a full service car wash or car wash and hand wax. The reports are a little detailed but worth the pay.

I like the athletic shoe shops because I have a teen and a pre-teen & let me tell you, those boys always need shoes....and the $30.00 off is a great deal. Last week, I got my son a pr of 84.00 shoes for $19.00 *after reimbursement*. They were on sale for 69. something and they were an additional 30% off.

We like their wing shops too...and we can take the whole family.

I haven't paid and don't intend to pay for the upgrade...but I'm glad I heard of their name on here at some point and signed up with them!
Mommy,
Glad to hear it worked for you! My daughter was certainly thrilled to reap the benefits of the two shops I completed, but I hard time finding something that was even CLOSE to what I would pay for her shoes minus the $30. THe shoe shops are also the only ones we have in WA thus far too sad smiley. THe schedulers seem nice enough.

I am totally with you on ANY shop that would benefit my kids AND save me a buck too!
For those of you who have done the shoe shop as well as others, how often do you find that these shops come available? How many times per week/month do you get called? I noticed that the shoe retailer is in my area, so I wouldn't mind doing a couple of these to save on shoes (I jog, my husband enjoys recreational sports). What other types of shops do they do? I see on the list they talk about Spas etc.
I have only seen the shoe stores in my area, I would say once a month I get a call to fulfill one in my area....about 8-10 stores I assume.
I noticed a few of the new companies I started working with are rating the shops.
I have no problem with this.
Similar to one of the prior thread, after I signed up as a non-rated evaluator, I instantly receive a phone call to ask me to do several jobs same day and several weeks out. The pay is terrible with this company and the survey are not detailed yet they tend to contact me 4-7 days after survey submission and asked me for more details. In one instance, the pay was $5 and they want me to complete a 2 page long narrative on my entire experience in addition to checking the boxes and providing detailed answers on all the No before they will accept my shop and pay $5. Not an ethical company with much integrity. I would stay away from paying for the rated evaluator fee and be very cautious about taking on assignments where one cannot view the survey in advance or no detailed instructions in the survey was provided. All the other companies I worked with rate my shop but does not require a fee.
I have done several wing shops with them, and found the pay fair and report easy. I am also unrated. I have no problem with it. The only weird thing I saw was the outside scheduler sends out messages all the time looking to book the shops. You get a 4 day window to schedule them, you can do as many as you want, but they must be 5 days apart.
I am a non-rated evaluator. I have done a number of shops for them, the wing shop and a couple of other types. They have reasonable reports, payment/reimbursement is reasonable, and I have never been contacted for additional details. I've also never been paid late. The only problem I have with them is that they don't have enough shops in my area.....I'll work for them whenever I get the chance ...... that said, I'm still not willing to pay to be a rated evaluation.
I was called by one of their schedulers and offered double pay $30 each for two shops. I had previously done 1 for $15. My check arrived for $30 and pay was listed as 3 shops. That was about 3 weeks ago that I received my check. I notified them of the error. They agreed that I had earned $75 but still no payment. The are "looking into it". PLEASE!!!!
That disconnect between what the scheduler promises, what they agree they owe and what (and when) it is received certainly soured me on them. Very unprofessional.
3 weeks ago? I would call them, kimcox17. Sometimes I think the right hand doesn't always know what the left is doing with them. Part of them are in TX, part in FL, not sure where their other parts may be.

However, I've always gotten paid and just wish they had more clients here. There's something to be said for an MSP who doesn't post jobs to a board, but relies on relationships built between schedulers and shoppers via phone. I do the reports, never hear a word, get paid, and wait for them to call or email again.
I received an email yesterday from the "Managing Partner" saying they're sorry . . . human error . . . . that checks would be mailed today.
The only company I did work for that charged the Shopper to be a member,I refuse to pay. I get shops through a Scheduler, not the company directly. The shops are ok, but I called recently to ask a general question about my pay and spoke to someone there who was so rude, dismissive and unprofessional, I wrote to the CEO and dissolved my relationship with them.
I did one of their wing shops years ago and it went ok. I did think it was kind of dumb to insist on somehow getting the name of the person you communicate with when they are not required to wear name tags. They really wanted that name, implying that a description of the person would not be good enough. Is this still the case? It is the main reason I don't consider the many emails I get requesting my to sign up for it.
I don't know the wing shop you're referring to. However, it is not unusual for guidelines (and not just with this MSP) to require a name, even when the employee is not wearing a nametag. It's not necessarily that a description isn't good enough. Perhaps the server is supposed to introduce her/himself "Hi, I'm April. I'll be taking care of you tonight". If not that, it's easy enough for a customer/shopper to get a name. "What was your name, in case I need something?"
I feel like a real dummy asking this but I just joined their site and cannot find anywhere that the assignments are listed. Do they just call you with the jobs? I'd rather be able to look at them on the site.....???
GERTEISEN, you're not the dummy. That's how their system works. They either call you or email you with available shops. They are not listed anywhere on their website. My scheduler said they are under new mangement and hoping to change their current system.
