Uncovered a scam

Hi I am new to Mystery Shopping. I just interacted with a company and they sent me a check to deposit before completing the assignment. I had the check investigated by my bank and they found that it was a fraudulent check. I would like to alert others to this scam. Is this the correct place to do so?

Many of us have encountered this scam. I'm glad you had it investigated before you cashed it and got left with an empty bank account.

People just don't send people large amounts of money. It is too good to be true, but somehow, someway, there is a sucker born every minute.

I think most of us here know, llm. That's why it was so clear yesterday when you posted your question about the check that it was a scam. It's a pretty typical scam. Glad you were not caught by it.

Yeah..weren't a few here caught by it? I read last week a poster lost $1500??

I think the people caught by it who have posted here have been people who searched the internet AFTER being caught by it and losing money. They then come here to post about it. The poster who lost $1500 (whose posting name was ironically "richgirl"

posted only once and never came back after reporting her loss to us.
