Ummm

I get it 10 bucks for

1) How long it took for their pump to come on
2) How many perimeter poles
3) Picture of Mens and Womens restroom
4) Picture of yourself in a orange vest that you had to buy not sure why... The traffic I guess at a Gas station so busy I had to wake the Associate up.
5) A picture of the associate behind the counter?
6) 36 or something like that questions
Please help me get blood out of this turnip... Give me a break.. Not worth it

Yes, $10 plus two gallons of gas and $2.00 inside purchase for a total of about $18.50 to $19.00. Sorry it doesn't work for you, thanks for passing on them, more for me.

what MDavis said. Its actually more $18-$19 so it's definitely worth it for me. Takes me about 15 minutes.
I agree with MDavis. The vest cost $3 at the dollar store. The free gas gets me to my other shops so they are all profit. Once you have done a few, you zip right through them.
Orange vest? Please tell me you don't have to wear this while trying to maintain your mysterious statussmiling smiley LOL at the mental picture... never done one of these shops before.

I can just imagine the instructions... "please attempt to wear your manditory orange vest discretely as not to clue in associaties to your mystery guest identity".

please excuse my goofyness this morning.

You do not put it on until after you have revealed yourself. These are mystery shops/ revealed audits combined.
I figured it was revealed, but some of the things MSC's have you do for a couple bucks are nearly about as crazy!
It is suggested but, not required for the reveal portion...winking smiley

Shopping Bama and parts of Georgia.
I'm still learning 24/7.
Ya, I don't like this particular client revealed audits, but that doesn't mean I won't take them!
Did 9 of them last night in about 3 hours. Put them in late, so it only took an hour and a half to get them all input.

Shop fees $108 for 4.5 hours, full gas tank paid for by someone else=priceless!

You must live in a city. I live in a rural area with several small towns several miles apart. When I do nine shops, it takes me 6 hours minimum (good weather and no wrecks). Get home, scan receipts, resize photos, do reports, another 2-3 hours. If you did all that in 1 1/2 hours, I salute you.

It is different for every shopper, and we all have pros and cons for every shop and every company.
You can cut a lot of time off your input by photographing receipts and setting your camera to take pictures at the lower resolution rather than deal with all that scanning and sizing.

Equal rights for others does not mean fewer rights for you. It's not pie.

Why would I screw with all that when I can do gas station shops that do not require pictures and pay more? There is also a convenience store shop where only two pictures are required
I too live in a rural area and there is no way I would even try that gas station shop for 10.00 + reimbursement. Even the Sunoco shops require only a few pictures and pay more towards the end of the month. There's no nonsense about timing two gallons of gas.
It's not about what I prefer to do. It's how much my time is worth and whether a shop is profitable or not.

Not sure how you could accomplish that. Are you not including your travel between shops? Or, you must have not been doing the gas stations that were once Steri's.

Maritz requires you spend a minimum of 20 minutes at each location.

20 minutes X 9 stations = 180 minutes (3 hours)
I did my first 2 today. I would rather have root canal without anesthesia. But, for $18.74 they work as good fill.
They only have the time requirement for the blue shops....not sure why. Most of my shops last night were around 15 minutes each.

And this is the beauty of mystery shopping... one shopper's trash is another shopper's favorite route.

Time to build a bigger bridge.
Hey Nick on Team 5... great working with you today! I like your straight forward style and prompt return calls. Thanks!
I did one of these last night..not so good. First I misread the directions and arrived to find the place closed. But half the place was boarded up so I took pictures for reference. Emailed and called Maritz, no one was there to help. I'm gonna go again tonight even though it's now overdue. Whether they pay me or not is fine, I just don't want to be counted as a flake.

If you do the job, even if it's a day late, the likelihood is that you will be paid so long as you overcommunicate with them. I have always found them to be reasonable so long as you are proactively communicating problems and they don't have to follow up with you first.
Well I could not do it tonight due to the crap weather. I did call them again today for assistance but no team members work on weekends. I left a message with someone about the problem, and I asked her for advice. She said she couldn't help because shed never heard of this exact thing happening. She said try to do it again over the weekend, and it would hopefully be ok.

To the above shoppers,

Which one of you, enjoy doing the gas station shops? Did you notice after a while they became easier. I have been offered these shops, but am worried I will mess these up. Or it will take an hour..
One of you posted, it takes you 15 mins a shop, WOW!

Any ideas, and suggestions how to make these succesful would be wonderful. I am afraid of screwing up my first shop . ( I haven't scheduled one yet..)
I completed my first yellow one a few days ago, but it is still waiting to be reported to the client. I would love to take more, but am waiting to make sure the first one gets accepted.

In the instructions, it states that you need to take two different pictures of each area (for different angles). However, when debriefing, there is only one picture slot for each required area. Has anyone else experienced this, and did the shops go through? I put a comment in the debrief, but I have not heard back yet. I will call them tomorrow, but just wondering if anyone has experienced this. Thank you!

Oh - btw, here are their hours of operation:

Ah, but you don't have to upload both when you first debrief? I was not sure about it - but if you have done these and that was the case - yay!

Thank you!!!
I always try to submit more than one photo, if I have them, and let them choose the ones they want. You can do that by leaving out a required photo when you hit submit. The photo page will return and you can add one more photo to each. You can also add photos when the report is open. At the top of the page is an "Upload Overall Photos" link or something like that. You can add your photos there and then add more later, if you so choose. I do this mostly with the restroom shots of toilet and sink separate, or multiple overall shots. I figure the more a can send them, the less will come back to me.

I take the 2 required photos but only upload 1. If they ask for another photo I have the extra one for back up.
I take tons of extra pictures, especially if I am trying to motor through the eval. (Yesterday my safety vest pic was in a parka, too.) I'll snap away for things to look at when I get home. Extras of a pump and all the POP, a couple extra of the fuelling area while I get the canopy. Infractions? Snap 'em…. with mittened fingers you can use the camera as a note pad. I'll look at the POP, credit apps, graphics, and such when I get home in case I missed something. That gets me out of the cold (or summer heat) and on my way a lot sooner.
They called me back today and extended my due date. Gonna go tomorrow and hope for the best. There are still a lot of them on the board in my area...
