GfK; Really? (Rant)

(Writer's note: There's no point in telling me to uncheck emails with GfK. I'm just ranting)

GfK has become, in my opinion, one of the most annoying MSC's in all the land. Is there really a reason for one scheduler (not to mention any names; Beth Phaller) to email a person the same email listing the same shop locations 6 times in a 4 hour time frame?

You sent me an email last night asking if I could do a certain shop for you because I have shopped that location before; you include a crappy bonus that doesn't even make it worth my time to begin with. I email you back with a counter offer and you don't even respond to me. All I receive is 6 more emails from you, listing the same shops, at the same prices.

I honestly miss when Cindy Hurt was handling these shops; at least she would have emailed me back telling me whether she could or couldn't give me the counter offer. Plus, she didn't spam the same email over and over again. That is annoying.

Maybe I should start adding an "annoyance fee" on to schedulers who get on my nerves? I like doing shops, but I'm not THAT desperate for work.

Certain schedulers should maybe rethink their career choices because they rub people the wrong way.

I stopped shopping them when they unaassigned me from a shop where they posted the wrong bonus by mistake. Totally wrong.
They did that to me once (we had an agreement for the shop fee to be $50, but they tried to assign it to me for $25), and when I called them on it, they removed the shop instead of adjusting it. The sad part is that they tried to email me a few days later and have me shop the location for the agreed upon amount, and I raised the amount desired due to the annoyance factor.

There are certain MSC's that I charge more than others. As an independent contractor, I have the right to set my own value on my time and if a company chooses to annoy me more than another MSC, I can always bump up my asking price. I do mystery shopping because I enjoy it, I'm not desperate for money.

I have no issue wit GfK but this issue isn't just exclusive to them. Soooo many schedulers send out one email per client location. They think this helps somehow when in reality it just makes me send that sender right into spam.
Learn how to work efficiently, schedulers. It's the only way this is going to work.

How about when you live in NYC and they send you shops from San Francisco or LA adding "in case you travel".
C'mon!! More emails? Ughh..
You would think the scheduler would realize that if a shopper was going to travel, they would notify the scheduler of the specifics.

This is crazy! Beth Phaller is emailing every shop in triplicate! If you are THAT desperate to have shops done, remember, money talks and B.S. walks! The shops have been at $35 (w/ bonus) for DAYS now; no takers means raise the bonus flag!

Also, why would I do your cell phone shop for $11.00 plus a $4 bonus, when I just got another cell phone shop from another MSC for $25?

I wish you could block individual schedulers from contacting you; all I can do is laugh her off to spam.

I have had some issues with them this month too. Stupid trap surveys, annoying scheduler, and inflexibility. Now, I wasn't an angel in all this. I picked and applied 5 shops and the scheduler was nice enough to give me me the 2 furthest from my house in totally opposite directions from each other. So, I do the first far away one and the employee did not have a business card. Nor did he have a brochure. So I just took timestamped pics thinking this should cover the POV photo. Nope not at all. My other far away shop gets rescheduled by the client. I nicely say no problem, I'll work it into my schedule. Then they rejected my first shop that took me over an hour and another hour or two of email pin pong. Once they refused to pay me, I cancelled the other pita shop. Guess I won't be working with them anytime soon. Not for the same scheduler, she's on my short list of people I don't want to work for anymore.

Floating around like a feather hoping the wind will set me down somewhere awesome.
