Maritz Maritz Maritz PAY ME STOP THE BS

Ok Maritz when will I get paid? Since I cannot see the jobs that are finished or not? You owe me a couple of 1000 dollars and its been a month or more. I see that you are making up errors like the station has 20 pumps and we do not have pumps 11 and 12 ? Come on I have heard that before. Then how did the report go in if you did not receive any pump pictures? And why do we have to get a LOA signed ? Do you not know what to do with it? Sort of like having to go back threw the (EDITED) jobs to add the receipt? even though it is already on the job report? Time is money but, because, you have errors on your reports I have to spend my time and go back threw them?
Why when I call no one has a clue? Like telling me to make sure I take the outside (EDITED) before I leave? HUH what ? And guess no one that you talk to has ever done a shop so.. guess what can I say Deer in the head lights?

Maritz when I told you I would do a video for you to show you how long it takes to do a gas station with 26 pumps you declined?

Any shopper here can take about 50 pictures label them dodge customer taking these pictures because, they have warrants and do not want their picture taken. Go inside and wait while 10 people in line with one cashier that this is their first day. Then the report where you have unnecessary pumps listed? And take a picture of the bathroom after I tell you it was so nasty I barfed from the urine. Then you tell me you do not have the receipts. Not sure about other shoppers but I save all reports . Why do I have it on the report that I saved but you do not? $17.00 for about 2 hours work.. Then you want me to do night shops do you not know what rush hour traffic is? But you pay what a dollar more?

I want to get paid do not try and make up reasons to not pay me I have done these same shops many many times.

And why is this in General Chat? It should be listed under Mystery Shopping Companies. Maybe the OP can't read either.

The company seems to be running a little behind on editing which means it takes longer to get paid for a shop waiting on editing. That said, the fact is I'm still getting checks on the dot even though some are smaller than I expected. If you are not getting regular checks there may be some problem with your reports specifically. You should be getting a check regularly if you worked in each two week period, even if it doesn't cover the jobs still waiting on editing.

I know it's frustrating and inconvenient when you expect money and it doesn't come in. For me, they are meeting their obligation to pay me on time for all reports accepted. I'm hoping they'll get up to speed soon and get past this little bump in the road. I'm going to be patient with them because they've always been patient with me.

Leet, if I had 200 unpaid shops with a company I'd be concerned, too. If you haven't received a check in over a month then they've got some kind of serious backup on your account. I suppose you've already called payroll on this. Will you share with us what they told you?

As far as the amount of work for the amount paid, we all know going in what we're dealing with. What I like about Maritz is that I can schedule a day of work and bring in a pretty good amount of money. I know many don't think it's enough money for the work but I like the constant availability of jobs and the fact that I can schedule several weeks in advance. Also, I prefer to do the same type of shop over and over. I'm not too fond of learning a new set of guidelines for only two to three shops over a period of time. Another important item for me is they've been really good about dealing with my intermittent health issues.

The oldest thing on My Current Shops showing No Action Required is early February, so I think they're catching up on the editing. Are the shops you've done disappearing off My Current Shops and you're still not getting paid?

OP: Exactly how long has it been since you did the shop?

Remember, it has to get to the editors, reviewed, and if all is well, it is sent to the client. Then, from the date payment, when it's approved, to the time you receive the check/paypal deposit, can take many companies up to two months, depending on the shop load.

How long have you been a shopper?
I think the big question is - Did you submit an invoice for each shop?...winking smiley

Shopping Bama and parts of Georgia.
I'm still learning 24/7.
Right, Mr. C. I completely forgot to mention the invoice issue. Leet, did you invoice each shop? That is the problem if you didn't invoice. If you didn't invoice and don't know how, you can call them and they'll walk you through it since you're a new shopper with them. When I first started out with them, I had trouble remembering to invoice each shop. Now I do each one individually as soon as I complete the report. You have fourteen days to do the invoice and after that you have to call them. Let us know how this works out. Hope you can get straightened out. They have a lot of work and the jobs will go faster as you do more of them.

Also, you can cut down on your time on site if you take individual pump data from your pictures after you get home. No need to make notes on issues on site if you have a picture, and you have to have a picture if you have an issue. Do you have a good cheat sheet? I'd be glad to share mine if you'll PM me your email. Maybe it will be helpful making up your own if you don't have one.

How in the world could they owe him a couple of thousand dollars, and he be a new shopper with them?
I figure $2,000 is about 133 shops, calculated at an average of $15.00 each. It could be fewer shops if the less expensive shops aren't included. I'm a steady shopper with them and I did 63 last month. More than a hundred a month would really be honking, but maybe Leet is talking about a couple of months or so. I'm not thinking it's impossible they owe $2,000 on this account, but they've never owed me that much at one time, or if they did I didn't catch on.

I think what Ishmael meant was, why would they assign him that many shops as a new shopper without getting self assignment status first. Good question.

I have lots of problems with Maritz, but at least I am getting paid. Sounds like the OP has some serious problems.

I have to say that maybe I just assumed Leet is new with Maritz because Leet seems to be writing about a certain station Maritz recently picked up. Leet mentioned already doing a bunch of these so I just assumed Leet did these for the old company and then switched over to work for Maritz. Yes, it takes a while to get self assign status and I don't understand the huge number of stations not paid but we probably need more information. I've been shopping for Maritz for a few years now and I'm able to self assign a large bunch of shops at one time but it took a while to work up to that. At first, I couldn't assign many, and could only pick up more as I worked some of the assigned shops off the board. Perhaps Leet came on board with Maritz and picked up a large bundle of these shops. Anything can happen.

Exactly. I've gotten one tiny paycheck from them, about to get another larger one, and the next one after that should be good. But, they started me out with two assignments, chatted to me again, gave me another two, chatted to me, gave me another one. They didn't just give me a couple of hundred.
Yes, that's how I got started. Lots of phone calls and lots of careful attention. They were cautious and didn't jump in with a bunch of assignments. I thought I'd never get rolling.

Mary Davis Nowell. Based close to Fort Worth. Shopping Interstate 20 east and west, Interstate 35 north and south.
It was funny. I applied for a couple of banks, got phone calls from them, and, um, ignored the phone calls. I kept checking my 'pending assignment' list, and saw the things I'd applied for going to other people. Then, when I learned, reading here, that they do their first assignments by phone calls, I was horrified. I thought that I'd probably gotten myself on a lifelong blacklist by ignoring them. Then I got a Team Gas Station phone call, and all's been well, ever since.
Ishmael, be careful with those banks. I haven't done them in a long time but I had an experience I want to tell you about. Back when I was doing the banks, after you reported a bank they asked if you wanted to do it again and if you checked yes, then they assigned you the bank again.

At one time I was burned out on banks and I decided to quit doing them for a while so I quit checking the "yes" button. Then a bunch of them showed up again on my current jobs list. I called them and said I didn't ask for them and didn't want to do them and they said they'd take them off. I never gave it another thought. When I called a few months later to find out why I didn't see banks any more, they told me I had been thrown off the project. They further told me it would do no good to appeal it because the manager of that group never reinstated. That happened a few years back.

Just a bird on your shoulder putting a warning in your ear. If they'd told me if I cancelled I was dead meat, I would have gone ahead and done that round of banks.

Ishmael,

1--I also receive calls for gas, although I was removed from banks last year.

2--Unlike Mary, my position is that anyone non-desirous of using my services need only look elsewhere. I never inquired as to why I was removed, as I'm not a person to whom why is even minutely important. My best guess is that someone on the team, perhaps the leader, decided my fees were exorbitant. To the uninformed that would certainly appear to be the case, BUT, I highly value my time and NO shopper is at a positive net if he/she factors expenses at the scheduler speak of a "few dollars for gas."
Leet, you have been a shopper for at least a couple of years and say you have done over 1000 gas stations, over 200 with Maritz. You also say it takes 2 hours to complete one. You have complained about and warned shoppers that GFK, Monterey, Best Mark, and Marketforce are scams, rip offs and cheats. You have complained about Pay Pal and now Maritz is on your list.

My question is, if you feel gas stations are too time consuming, require too many photos, have felons with warrants as customers that don't want their picture taken, and not worth $17...why do you do them?

I have three suggestions for you. 1. Take mrcomputers advice and call Maritz to see if you have debriefed AND invoiced each shop for Maritz. 2. Stick to shops where you don't have to write a narative. 3. Get an attitude adjustment.
I'm not gonna say which one of the 3 I suggest.

jleetw1, you said: "Then you tell me you do not have the receipts. Not sure about other shoppers but I save all reports . Why do I have it on the report that I saved but you do not?"

I think the problem is that with Maritz gas station shops, you have to submit the receipts as part of the shop report and also have to submit them a second time to get reimbursed. You also have to submit the invoice. I suspect they have the report receipt but don't have the second copy they needed with the invoice.

My routine is this: I do the report, enter the receipts and photos, and submit the report. Then I immediately submit the invoice for that particular shop and re-upload the receipt for the reimbursement. Then I enter the next shop. That way I know I have invoiced each shop because I do it immediately.

Except since I mostly only do banks for them, I nearly always will forget the second receipt upload if I do a singleton gas station shop. But I do the invoice. When payday rolls around and they don't find the receipt with the invoice, I get a message that the payment is on hold waiting for the receipt. I submit the receipt. If I do it quick enough, I'll get paid on time. If I drag my feet, it will fall into the next round.

The one time I forgot to do the invoice at all I realized the job was unpaid a month or so later and called them. I think they put it in for me after I called. Or maybe they reopened it so I could submit my own invoice properly. It was one of my first jobs for them and a long time ago.

I think you may have confused their request for the reimbursement receipt with a request for the report receipt that you knew you had submitted. Or it's possible you forgot to submit each job's invoice.

Don't hate them. Just find out what they need and give it to them. The problem arises from the fact that "I need the receipt" can mean two different things, even though it's the same receipt.

And if you don't like this system, then don't work for them, because this is how they do things and they're not going to change just for you. Lots of MSC's have their own unique way of doing things; either put up with it or shop for someone else. That's all you can do.

Time to build a bigger bridge.
Thanks for the advice on the banks. Slightly derailing the original subject, I'm going to ask another question.

(I've thought that they'd be a great thing for a trip. If you planned right, you'd get to walk around and stretch your legs, see a town you've never seen before, and pick up a bit of money along the way. And, you'd never have to worry about the banker recognizing you. Let's all sing a chorus of "On the road again....seeing places I may never see again..."winking smiley

So, I don't want to do them in automatic rotation, but I'd love to keep the opportunity open of doing them. What's the best way to accomplish that? So far, I've been answering the: 'Do you want to be automatically assigned?' question by saying that, although I want to keep doing them, I don't feel comfortable redoing them in the rotation time. Anyone think that there's a better way to handle it? I'd like to hear suggestions.
Maritz has about the easiest shops out there.
If you cant meet thier guidelines to get paid, your probably not cut out for mystery shopping!
