Thank you, Maritz

I've starting receiving helpful emails from Maritz listing new shops awarded. Thank you, Maritz.

Love those, as well as the ones that ask if you are interested in the shops we have "picked" just for you.

I sure wish they would use emails all the time and quit using phone calls unless they are in dire need. I find their messages are often difficult to understand. They either talk too fast, mumble or cough in the middle of the message. Yesterday, I had a message about a shop and never did understand who the shop was for, only where it was located. With an email, there is no doubt what they want. Maybe they have folks who do not know how to use email or are uncomfortable with putting things in writing?
I believe the email policy is determined at the top. It may be true that some of the ladies and gentlemen who call us might not be comfortable with email, but it's not likely the reason for the preference for phones. Personally, I like the phone calls. Not only do they call me, but I can call them and get instant or almost instant answers when I'm in the field and need them. Not so in most other cases. A call returned two hours after I leave a location doesn't help.

Although I am one who prefers to communicate with MSCs through e-mail (and I find the constant Maritz phone calls burdensome and annoying), I think Mary is very correct that Maritz's e-mail policy is determined at the top. Maritz employees use the telephone, and, for the most part, shun e-mail because that is what they are instructed to do.

I do work for Maritz, like the company, and I self schedule. Perhaps if their frequent phone calls included bonus offers I would not find them so annoying. Almost all their calls are to let me know about assignments in my area at the posted price because they are not authorized to make a bonus offer. I find the calls annoying because I already know the assignment exists and what it pays, and if I wanted the assignment I would have self scheduled it. I have noticed they tend to beg me to take these shops when I decline, and often they argue with me - "it's not THAT far away" etc etc etc.....

If they ever do call with a nice bonus, I might think about it. In the meantime, I'll self schedule those shops that I want and ignore the massive number of unnecessary, annoying phone calls.
They don't have much in my area compared to last month. Or all their new clients brought new shoppers to the Maritz table. Either way after last months craziness with them it's nice to have a few days of quiet.

Floating around like a feather hoping the wind will set me down somewhere awesome.
too get a lot of phone calls from them but some of the time bonuses are included or they are receptive to them. I guess timeing and area make a difference.

Their accessibility in the field is an upside to their phone only communications that I hadn't considered, and that I, too, have benefitted from. I'd still prefer email. Nice catch on finding yet another silver lining, though.

I've asked them to only call when incentives are being offered. They noted it in my file and they've been pretty respectful of that. Went from several calls a day to no calls for the first two weeks each month. End of each rotation the daily calls start up again, but always with bonus money available.

Heh. I got one of those a few days ago, on a distant shop for which I had recently declined an exceptionally low counter-offer. The email offered me an incentive of exactly $0. Needless to say, I ignored it.

I do like Maritz and love their phone accessibility, but I will admit that they have frustrated me a great deal this month with their counter-offers that don't even cover gas or tolls (let alone the extensive drive times). I'm sure they'll make up for it eventually, but right now, I am moving on to other things.
I just opened a check from Maritz covering 52 shops. That's nowhere near all of them but it's a good chunk and looks like they're gaining on it. I still have about 85 outstanding right now and I'm hoping they'll get those paid in the next couple of checks. Thank you, Maritz editing and payroll people, hang in there.

I got mine today too. They even paid for the 8 auto parts store shops that are still on my board having not moved in a month since I did them....there is a reason I like them.
I got an odd cheque today, which covered one shop out of a group of three I did the same day. A week after the shop I got an email on one asking for a receipt, even though my copy of the invoice clearly shows the receipt. I resubmitted, and today (9 days after the resubmit request) I got an email stating that my receipt was attached to the invoice now. What about the third shop? I'll have to call them tomorrow.
