Service Sleuth

I was just about to complete an assignment when I realized they got the address listed wrong on the form. Instead of 615, they put 165.

I didn't want to take a chance to do the job. I emailed the scheduler but have not heard from her.

Anyone had similar experience? its an oil change job and reimbursement is $46..

I know it was just a typo on their end..but didn't know if I should just go for it. The shop is due tomorrow...hopefully I hear back.

I did one where the address listed was "70007" instead of the correct address of "7007". There was no business at 70007. The street addresses didn't even go up that high.

I didn't contact the MSC before doing the shop. I googled the business address, checked their website and made sure I had the correct location and went to the correct location to do the shop, then turned in my report. Didn't hear anything from the MSC about the address. I doubt they even noticed it.
I had one for a different MSC where the listed address was 245 and the address on the receipt was 247 or something like that. I know the back and forth arguing with the MSC about being certain I was at the right location pushed my pay back another month. There was no address listed on the outside of the building, so I couldn't know ahead of time. This was the only restaurant for this brand for over 40 miles, so I was confident I had the right place.
Nancy,

Check out both addresses to be sure there aren't two. I have had two shops, same company, same street, one at each end. If your sure of the correct address (google it) and email the scheduler and tell her the correct address you are shopping. If there are two shops don't shop it unless you are sure.
There was only 1 shop in the area. The address they posted on the assignment belongs to a house lol. I emailed the scheduler couple of times but did not hear back. I did not want to take a chance so I didn't do the assignment. Emailed her again to see if she can extend the date....just waiting.
Pretty simple.
You know the client.
Go to their website and find all of the locations in that area/ zip code.
If you see only one, you'll know where to go.
Simple data entry error.
You are in Hawaii. How many "ABC Oil Change" stores are there going to be? It's not like you are shopping in Los Angeles. You have to use some common sense some days.
If I was your scheduler, I'd be annoyed. (Just saying. That's my feeling.) In reality, they'll probably fall all over themselves apologizing because you are in Hawaii. They don't have an abundance of choices.
I have noticed this company makes typos. However, we aren't paid to be private investigators and figure out where to go.

It is reasonable to expect a Mystery Shop to provide accurate information about a shop's location as well as an easy to understand form to fill out. These Mystery Shops have a responsibility to their CLIENT to be accurate about where shops are located, and provide pertinent information back to their clients.

The client provides an address file. The client gives it to the MSC. It happens all.the.time.

This company takes a very long time to pay, I am still waiting to get paid for december 2013 shops.
bgriffin, that sounds like a nasty cough. Here's a recipe that works for all kinds of problems: Heat one cup water to a boil, pour into 16 oz. mug. Add juice of 1/2 lemon, a couple of tablespoons honey, a little cinnamon, and 2 tablespoons real butter. Add three shots quality bourbon and stir. Put on your jammies and get in bed. Sip carefully. The cough may not go away but you won't care anymore.
