Reality based reports

Has anyone had problems getting payment from this company. I have not received payment from this company from over a month ago and they refuse to respond to emails and payments. They say that payment was made but payment was never made.

I did a shop for them in early March and was paid in mid-April.

Never a problem with this MSC, if you are talking about Reality Based Group, which was formerly Gamefilm, [realitybasedgroup.com]

RBG is an Austin, TX-based company that has consistently paid by PayPal between the 18th and the 22nd of each month, paying for shops completed during the previous month. Shops completed during March were paid on April 18th. Shops completed during April were paid on May20th. I am expecting payment for any May shops around June 20-22.

What does your Shop Log show? Have you double-checked the PayPal address you provided to them? There have been reports of companies (not just RBG) paying through PayPal and the shopper reporting it was not received. Several times, after checking the PayPal provided, the wrong PayPal account was provided (typo?) and the money was floating around somewhere at PayPal, paid by the company but not received by the shopper.

Also - they have just started direct deposit. I don't know if any of their shops have been paid through direct deposit yet, as it's relatively new but that would be another thing to check.

Sorry - I don't have an accounting contact, only schedulers. I've shopped them since 2008 and never had a problem or needed to contact them.
I checked paypal and it is not there. They have always paid in the past and now they just stopped paying. Numerous emails to them and they refuse to respond.
AustinMom is absolutely right if you are in fact referring to Reality Based Group. I've done a lot of work for them and never had any problems.
I've done a nice regional restaurant chain for them many times. However, the food has gotten so bad I won't be doing it again. Report is easy and pay is dependable.
Anyone ever have issues getting paid when there was a problem with the shop?
I was asked to do a shop last minute with a bonus because someone flaked.
Ran out and got to the store, which was closed. I took several photos as proof
and did the report with all "No" answers and wrote the appropriate narrative
("I was not greeted at all, much less with a smile and eye contact."winking smiley. What do
you think my chances of getting paid are?

I haven't had many problems of that sort yet, but the couple that I've had to deal with so far, I handled in a different way. I filled in the parts that I could, and since there wasn't any reasonable way to answer enough questions to be able to submit the report, I left the it un-submitted and e-mailed the scheduler. The scheduler got it pushed through, and I was paid.
Ishmael--Thanks. I did the best I could. Since it was the weekend and the scheduler told me he was
taking off, I submitted so that I didn't miss the deadline. I did call and e-mail him first, though. What else could I do?

Update: The scheduler assured me that I would get paid, so I was very relieved. Checking my shop log for updates, I see a note that I was getting paid, but at a reduced fee! An "attempt fee". NO WHERE in the guidelines or on the form does it say that they will reduce the fee to almost half if the bank was closed. The scheduler didn't even know about it! I wouldn't be angry if I knew this in advance, but there was no indication at all!

I called and e-mailed to offer them more photos of the closed branch and a receipt from the grocery store where the bank is located to prove the time and date, but never heard anything back. I feel that I did more than my share and should be paid the entire fee and bonus that I was promised!

I know that this company is a favorite for many shoppers, and I used to like them a lot, but I no longer feel that I can trust them.

Where did you find a phone number for a scheduler here? Looking everywhere, they don't even give any email contacts.

>>>>I did call and e-mail him first, though. What else could I do?<<<<
They use an outside scheduling service. The scheduler sent me his contact information.

You're lucky to get the attempt fee. For another company, I drove 35 minutes across town to do a valet parking shop at a hotel. The doorman asked how long I would be. I said an hour or two. He goes inside, comes back out and said the lot is full. I begged, and he said he couldn't help me. This shop was bonused up to $35, last day of the month. I got nothing.

Bay--I'm sorry to hear that.

What ticked me off is that the scheduler told me that RBG ALWAYS pays, even for closed locations because that is beyond our control. If I had known that ahead of time or if they had contacted me instead of letting me discover the shortage on my own, I wouldn't be so upset. I did the other "easy" bank shop I had scheduled and I'm done. They are off my list.

I did some more shops for them that they did not pay for me for. They made some bogus excuse as to not pay for them. I am just advising people to stay away from RBG they used to be a good company but they are starting to go down hill.
I've always been paid and on time. What is the reason they are giving for refusing yours?

I have also always been paid by RBG. EXCEPT, Sandiego, I've discovered that RBG does NOT pay for closed locations.

chrisj, please give us more information so we can try to help you figure out what is not working for you. You have posted about payment problems with multiple companies (good, solid companies that most of us have no difficulty with), but you haven't given us details of the reasons for the problems. Please explain the situations that have resulted in nonpayment from RBG, GFK, and ACE. I think there were a couple of others you have had problems with, but I'm not sure if they were payment problems. We are here to help, but there's no point in expressing an opinion about possible nonpayment unless we understand why the company is not paying.
Have not had any problem with this MSC. They are pretty prompt in payment. Relationship has been good.
Look for the common denominator.

They pay promptly and I've never had a problem. They are in the process of switching from PayPal to direct deposit. I have switched my payment preference and noticed that payment arrives two days earlier.

I wonder how they base that decision. I was just paid for that location, albeit not the entire amount--$13 instead of the bonused $20 I was promised. The scheduler was adamant that they always pay for closed locations that should have been open because that is beyond the shopper's control.

I don't know. It may well depend on the scheduler. But I have twice not been paid for a closed location.
AM--Sorry to hear that. Was this recently? I can tell you that my scheduler was from Kern.

It was some time ago. It may depend on the client because I have also been paid for closed locations. Maybe it just depends on who reviews it.
I have been advised to not post specific details online about the payments. I have done 1000's of shops and have only had problems with a few companies. I called out GFK on a specific issue and they did not like it and this is what they did not like.
I'm not going to avoid a good company because of vague accusations and even vaguer excuses for withholding details.

It is not a vague excuse when an attorney tells me not to post that is why I am not posting.
So why post at all? Other than vague threats of "And I may do other things too."
