Grass Roots Mystery Shopping - I'm impressed!

Just wanted to say something nice about an MSC. I did my first shop for Grassroots of a mid range casual dining restaurant and just completed the report and wow, gotta say that report was EASY. It took me all of 22 minutes and was very light narrative. I wish more shops were like this.....

I like their shops, but the popular casual dining report still took me an hour to complete. Maybe I added too much detail?
I accepted the shop because the fee was higher. I would not take the shops for the base fee, since it would not even cover 1/2 of the check.
Isn't this the company that pays with gift cards?

Happily shopping Rhode Island and nearby Massachusetts and Connecticut
Yes - the gift cards and the low reimbursement amount are both negatives, but the report form is fast and easy. So, if, like me and the family, you love the restaurant, it's still an option even with the negatives.
I only do one type of shop for them and I only do the ToGo shops. I try to spend as close to $30 as I can, I usually have food for 2 or 3 meals at home that I love, and the report is so easy.

Ooooh, the To-Gos are my favorite. The report for To Gos is even easier than the others - and there's no requirement to order a beverage so your reimbursement goes further.
They were apparently contracted to mystery shop my university's dining halls, and I'm taking a summer class there. I've been debating with myself whether or not I should start working for them.
I do the opposite. I try the purchase the least expensive item as possible, since the reimbursement is the same regardless of how much you spend. When I get the gift card, I then splurge smiling smiley
I saw a shop they offered for a restaurant but they didn't pay, they offered me a gift card for the restaurant. So basically you are doing a buy one get one free dinner.
There are a crap load of those fishy shops on the board. I wonder how long it will take them to realize that most people aren't going to take those in exchange for a promotional card that doesn't cover the required purchases. $15 for lunch? Are you kidding?

I'll do the dessert production facility shops as often as I can, but I won't do the fishy shops until they pay with real gift cards or increase the amount to cover the requirements.
I love the to-go's, second favorite is dinner at the bar. Even getting there at 6, without fail, the bartender offers the happy hour menu. Score!

Ditto. 10% tip and no beverage will cover an appetizer and two entrees.

they on not on the "list" here...I know I have signed up with them...anybody have a link?
Grassroots changed its name - from Mystery Guest. My bookmark takes me directly to the sign in screen (bookmarked back when they were Mystery Guest) but a Google search for Grassroots mystery shopping should take you to their main page. They are also still listed under Mystery Guest also and a Google search for Mystery Guest sould forward you to the main Grassroots page where there's a link to register.

Any body has the link for US application?
I tried it didn't work. Thank you Guys!
I also like the company and wish they had more of a variety of restaurants. The to-go are so easy and the food is very plentiful. Each time you do the shop it reduces the outlay of the first time you go and have to spend your own money. I have also been able to add the tip to the card. ( sometimes I have a dollar or so left on one card and need to use more than one.
