Jancyn double paid me!

I got my payment from the via PayPal a week ago for a shop I did last month or the month before. Then today I come home from another fun day of shopping and check my email, and there is a second identical payment. I logged in and checked to make sure there wasn't another shop I had forgotten about that they were paying me for, but it was in fact a duplicate. I spent almost a half an hour trying to navigate their phone system. No matter what I press, I can't seem to get anyone on the phone. Don't get me wrong, I love that they paid me twice, but I'd rather take care of this the honest way then have problems later. But I can't get ahold of anyone! The only email I have is for the project manager for the shop I did, and I emailed her, but no response. Holy Bat-Crap Batman, I've had to chase down payments a couple of times, but never in my MS career have I been double paid for a shop!

Leave the money in your PayPal account for them to reclaim. The email to the project manager should get a response before too long. And yes, it is a better bind to be in than to be unpaid, but letting them know they goofed and offering to have them reclaim the funds is the professional approach to the situation and should serve you well in the long run.

I've been overpaid a couple of times. Sometimes only a few cents; another time by $5.00. In all instances, I was thanked for bringing it to their attention and they told me to keep the money. Again, it was small amounts, not a double payment.

Isn't there an option in PayPal that allows you to "Refund Payment"? shows that.

I think Paypal *does* have that option, now that you mention it... I've never had to try using it though!

I've only ever been overpaid by less than a dollar here and there. A couple times I've been underpaid by 25 cents or so. I've never actually mentioned any of it.

Thanks for all the advice. I had forgotten about the paypal refund feature. I just refunded the payment explaining that it was a duplicate.
