GFK Problems

I got an email sent out after 4 PM, begging for a smartphone mystery shop, offering a $36 bonus for it. It needed to be completed that day. I logged in to the GFK site, but there wasn't much information provided unless I accepted the shop, which I did. Then I read through 13 pages of instructions, read through the report (required, since we had to know what questions we would have to answer), took note of the many details I'd have to ask about or take note of, etc etc etc. I called the location 3 times, per the instructions, but the phone was not answered. I Googled, found the location's hours, saw I needed to get there ASAP in order to complete the shop, and left.

After I completed the shop, I got an email saying I needed to take some kind of quiz. I responded, saying I got that email long after I had completed the shop. I logged in, and.....the shop wasn't there. It wasn't in my shop log, wasn't anywhere. I emailed twice, received no response, finally went onto the web site and contacted through there. I got a response commiserating that it must be frustrating (hell yeah!) but it was the end of the month, blah blah blah.

Yes, it was the end of the month, which is why they sent out an email after 4 PM, wanting someone on site by 6 PM, after reading and absorbing a bunch of information. I logged in that night to complete the shop, but it wasn't there. I held up my end of our contract, but they are now refusing to hold up their end of the contract.

Get offers in writing. Otherwise, do not trust them.

Getting offers in writing is a very good strategy.
I was an idiot and did 2 wings shops last night both were rejected without explanation. Both were done exactly as guideline say. I have screen shots of both reports. Its time to get a lawyer involved.

They wanted you to take the quiz before attempting the shop, but when you hadn't taken the quiz by a certain time they removed the shop from your job board, right?

Then they owe you money and fees. This is the second time in a week I've read about GFK rejecting these wings shops. Last time it was because they said the wrong item was ordered. Post when they give you a reason. I also did these wings shops and would like to know how it turns out for you.

They said it was because I didn't say that I called in the order before going to the restaurant but the screen shot I have clearly shows that I did.

Good move getting the screencapture of your report. I use ScreenHunter 6 but never thought to use it to save an image of a report. You'll win. They'll pay you as soon as you move the issue up to a supervisor and he sees the screencapture.

That's unusual. Usually she's prompt. I wonder if she's on vacation and doesn't have access to email or voicemail? Keep trying.
I've actually had a couple of issues with them lately.

I did a few cell phone shops a few weeks ago for them.. I f'd up two of the shops by submitting one as location closed when it was the other location I meant to report as closed. Both of them were reported as location closed. The scheduler ignored all of my e-mails then they wrote some comment on the Shop Log saying they couldn't pay without a photo and business card. I had a business card and brochures and mentioned that in all of my e-mails. Scheduler still ignored me. Then she finally got back to me weeks later saying that the editor was supposed to e-mail me but no one ever did (yes I checked Spam).

Same scheduler e-mailed me about a shop that needed to be done before tomorrow. It was self assigned shop and I applied literally as soon as I got the e-mail. Their site must have been having technical issues because it kept saying it was no longer available when I self assigned but if I logged out/logged in, it would let me apply as you normally would. Scheduler ignored my e-mail about the technical issue. Someone needs to fire her...

OP I'm really sorry about your experience. I really hope you are made whole. Normally I wouldn't believe that they wouldn't reject without a reason but I also have experience with them just flat out ignoring people and rejecting shops without hesitation. It's a shame because they actually pay fairly quickly. Hope it works out for you!!

Yes GFK used to be great it seems as of late they are becoming a problem. Hope they fix this and go back to way they once were.

Shopping Western NY, Northeast and Central PA, and parts of Ohio and West Virginia. Have car will travel anywhere if the monies right.
I'm glad people are posting these issues...I won't do any work for companies like this.
