Shopmetrics login failure problem solved

I've been doing battle with shopmetrics companies for a long time, where on a purely random basis (or so it seemed) it would not let me log in. Sometimes a different browser worked, sometimes it didn't. I discovered a workaround involving doing the "reset password" thing, which would send an emailed link to reset the password. Clicking the link would take me to a screen where I could re-enter my original password (it was not required to change it) whereupon it would leave me logged in and I could click the Home button and be in logged in.

Recently I realized that it brought you there in logged-in condition, and I didn't even have to enter passwords to use the site. (Great security, huh? Why even have passwords?)

However sometimes it would not send the "reset password" email to me and I just couldn't get in at all.

Well, I just took a job from ACL I had to assign through the scheduler because I was requesting a bonus, and then I couldn't get in to get my shop docs, and then I got locked out because of too many failed attempts.

I told the scheduler I was locked out, she reset the password to 123456 and told me to try Firefox.

I went to a totally different computer than I normally use, tried Firefox -- and still couldn't get in and it still wouldn't send the "reset password" email.

... And then I noticed there was a "secure log in" link and a regular "log in" button on the page. I clicked the "Secure log in" link and it took me to a log in page that started with https:// and lo and behold it let me log in.

I went back to my original computer and Chrome and opened tabs for all my shopmetrics companies, attempted to log into about a half dozen of them. Some did not have the "secure log in" link on the page, and those let me in. Apparently they only do secure log in. The ones that rejected my first log in all let me in when I used the "secure log in" link.

So ... apparently this has been the problem, that sometimes it rejects log in requests from the non-secure mode. I don't know if this is being blocked by my own computer settings, my ISP, or what, but I have finally found the way to get into these sites.

I've seen comments occasionally here from other shoppers about having trouble getting in to Shopmetrics companies so I thought I'd tell my story here in case it helps someone else.

I am going to go in to all these companies and select the "secure log in" mode and re-save the bookmark so it takes me directly to that page when I use the bookmark in the future. Hopefully I will never have to click that link again.

Time to build a bigger bridge.

I have had a terrible time with this too, especially trying to log in through my smartphone, but it's only one Prophet company that's been locking me out. I made them aware of the situation last week but they have no trouble, therefore they didn't think it was anything on their end that was wrong. It's an imtermittent thing. I can log in for several days with no problems and then suddenly I am locked out for a few hours. I tried the password thing you described which worked a few times but not always. So frustrating! If it happens again I will be sure to use the secure login option and see how that goes. I never would've thought of this. I don't understand why they have two options and the default is not the secure option.
