Question again - Bare International

I have another issue I ran into and wondered if anyone has had the experience and how you handled it. I got a jewelry shop for Bare International. I completed the shop, made my selection and attempted to pay for the purchase. The salesman who was helping me went to sign into their computer and said he was having problems with it. He excused himself and went into the back. When he returned he said they were having computer issues but it was being corrected, would I mind waiting a few minutes. I agreed and he offered to wrap my gift while I was waiting. After a few minutes he went walked to the back again then returned and said the issue was going to take longer than expected and he couldn't process my purchase? He said they were open until 5 if I wanted to stop back by or they were open 12-4 the next day. I left the shop, took pictures of the exterior, door, and street sign. I also got a geo-tag. I drove up the road, then stopped to email my scheduler. I explained that this was part of a route shop and I lived quite a distance from the store. That was Saturday, on Sunday I still had not heard back, so I emailed again. Today I got an email cancelling the shop, no explanation, along with another shop I had scheduled later this week. Finally about 3:00 I got a return email from the scheduler saying she couldn't see where I had ever been assigned the shop, could I send her the assignment email. She also asked about pictures I took. I attached the photos to the email, and forwarded the confirmation email to her. I haven't hear a word back. Unfortunately it was just a reimbursement shop, so I won't get paid since I didn't make a purchase, but just wondered a better way to have handled it?

Can't they process a purchase without their computers and you get a handwritten receipt? A few years ago, before I was a shopper, I was at the hardware store when the power went out because of a car crash down the street that took out a power pole. They moved the cashiers out the front doors and processed payments there in the daylight. Maybe it is different with a jewelry store. Of course, this was also back in the day when they still had card imprinters as backup for just this kind of situation. I am guessing that modern cashiers wouldn't even know that they used to make carbon copies of your physical card with a device and process the payments with paper - how crude!

I hope it all gets fixed. That has got to be frustrating to have a route be screwed up by circumstances out of your control like that!

Could I have a receipt please?
Yes, my husband said the same thing about a card imprint or just a hand written receipt for cash. The employee appeared to be my age (45) so he wasn't a young kid that didn't know anything. It crossed my mind that may e he knew he was being shopped and knew requirements. But I'm probably just overly suspicious. I really didn't lose much, just aggravating.
Honestly, I would be angrier at the way your scheduler at Bare International handled your problem.
I know some shoppers just love Bare but I also had an incident where the scheduler was just downright rude to me about something that was not my doing. I avoid them now.
I too think Bare could have handled the situation better. You did everything right. You documented your visit well. Bare was definitely in the wrong on this one.
I just got an email from Bare scheduler, they are paying me $7 for shop since I had pictures as proof. Yeah!! I m glad to get something for my effort.
I think that is decent of them considering that they still have to get the location shopped.

Yay! But, what about the other shop that they removed?
Hi Kechums,

My name is Corey and I work as BARE's U.S. social media and marketing manager. I'm so sorry to hear that your situation wasn't handled great at first! We want to make sure that all of our evaluators feel respected. Evaluators like yourself, work so hard for us and we try to work just as hard for you. I am however glad to hear that you were refunded the $7 for your effort! Great thinking taking pictures! That is the BEST thing you can do if you ever have a problem at the shop location.

If you ever have trouble reaching your project manager, another option might be to reach our on our social media pages, [www.facebook.com] or [twitter.com] Someone might have a suggestion to help or they might be able to get you in touch with your project manager. It's not a perfect solution but it could be helpful.

Please feel free to reach out to me directly if you have any more questions or concerns! I would love to help in any way.

Thanks!

Corey
