SENTRY MARKETING: Are they paying on time and are the reports reasonable??

Never worked for them and notice they picked up some clients from Corp Research International.

So, are their reports still overly long as was the case with their burger chain client???
Read it was seven pages long....and was nit picked when submitted.

And are they paying more quickly??

Many Thanks

I shop for Sentry often from time to time with their fast casual and dine-in shops. The most recent checks I received were 68 days after completion of the shop.

I haven't ran into any issues with their reports, as all of their food shops had similar questions and format. Guidelines are very straight-forward as well. Also never had an issue NOT getting paid for my work and schedulers are easy to contact.

You're right, a lot of narratives in their reports; however, I've gotten used to them and can bust them out in less than 30 minutes if I stay focused.

I do massage shops through them. They pay in 60-90 days for those. Don't think I've ever received the checks consistently to be able to give a better payment date for them, sorry. sad smiley

I just received an email for a survey and I think they might be considering direct deposit and a faster payment time.

I know this must have been addressed other times but since you bring it up....I keep getting emails asking me to do massages and/or facials. Evidently the rotation is either long or non existent on locations so they need a new supply of shoppers. I cannot rely on memory for things like names, quotes or even things more specific than the gist of the conversation so I record myself as I go along in most shops. I cannot even imagine lying on a massage table with no pockets to keep my recorder in and then having to remember what we talked about for 45 minutes or an hour in order to write up a report. How does this work for those of us who are memory impaired?
I may be finding out soon. I was considering taking one of the spa shops. I hadn't thought about the part about taking clothes off. I usually stow my recorder in my bra. Guess that wouldn't work for something like this. I'll have to think about that one.

Time to build a bigger bridge.
I think removing your bra is optional and to give you further peace of mind, I believe, the part the client is most concerned about, transpires, after the massage, which is the sales pitch. Take the shop and enjoy it. Easy peasy....and relaxing. smiling smiley

I've been deactivated, so I guess I won't be taking any. smiling smiley

I intend to live forever. So far, so good.
Sandy and Irene LA, I record my whole shop. Sometimes they are aggressive and pitch you towards the end of your massage

I bring additional clothing to change into after my massage. They use a massage oil that I just don't want to risk soaking into my regular clothing. Anyway, I carry the change of clothes in a tiny canvas gym bag, that has an outer pocket on one side. I keep the recorder in that pocket, with a mic clipped to the side of the pocket. I have a campaign button pinned over that to hide it, it's just a plastic breast cancer awareness pin, nothing they'd think twice about.

The bag stays in the room with me. Half the time it gets stowed underneath the table, other times, it's on the chair close by. Never had a problem picking up conversations.

What 'terrible' thing did you do to pour little Davey to get deactivated? I just complained about their S L O W payments and I got deactivated.
BBird thanks for the tip on recording while half dressed (or less). I need to buy a new dvr as my old one finally bit the dust. Maybe I will spring for one with mic availability.
I've never found the massage shops in my area! With my hideous back I really could use one, too. smiling smiley

I've never had a professional massage... I've heard others who have, say that they can make one... uh... fart.

Is that true? Because that would not be pleasant. :/

Ha! No, though maybe different people react to them differently. I always ask for a guy or the strongest girl, because I like a deeper massage.

Here are a few of the main types:

Swedish- Most common
Thai- It's pretty much yoga, but they're the ones stretching you.
Hot stone: Like Swedish, but involves hot stones. I've gone to Chinese places who've done it too.
Deep tissue- Excruciating, but healing, and you feel much better later. Athletes do these.
Chiropractic massage: My personal favorite.
Shiatsu- Japanese finger pressure massage. Doesn't do much for me.

They require a lot of narrative and take months too pay. They are they only company that has ever deducted pay from me and they have done that several times. Since their scheduled fees are some of the lowest (reimbursement only in many cases) I have no idea why they think deductions are warranted. Their communication with shoppers is very weak. I've given up on them.

I'm sorry that you had a bad experience with our company.

Fee deductions are typically assessed in lieu of rejecting a report that is submitted late or where the guidelines were not followed. For example, if the deadline for submission of shop report is 24 hours after the scheduled date and time (this is our standard deadline), and the report was submitted 80 hours after the deadline, we may accept the report with a fee deduction in lieu of withdrawing the assignment. Similarly, if a dine in was assigned for a particular project and the shopper performed the shop as a take out, a small deduction might be assessed.

Our staff is usually very judicious in their use of fee deductions and first time shoppers are usually not penalized. I don't know the details of your siltation without company, however, if I can be of assistance, please feel free to contact me.

Thanks!

There reports require to much detail. There are sometimes when the shop doesn't require that much to describe it

If it helps any, the recent couple of shops I did for them on this new round have focused solely on objective narratives. In my past with them, there was some reiteration with their narratives and a handful of subjectivity asked for, which kind of made their reports a bit extensive; however, it appears (at least with this client) they've taken a great step forward with the layout on this round of reports.

I have no issues with legitimate adjustments.

I appreciate your being proactive about my earlier post here and communicating with me about it. I look forward to continuing to work as a shopper with your company.

cngross, I think what you're saying is the reports require more detail than you're willing to give. We all have to make those decisions. Some don't like narrative and some don't mind it. Those Sentry narratives I've done aren't difficult if you keep your eye on the report and respond with what they want. Cut corners and they'll get in touch every time. Pretty much every one I've worked for is that same way.

I notice you're a new poster. Welcome to the forum. You may have been shopping forever, I can't tell about that, but I wanted to let you know there are a lot of shops available without narrative. For example, most fast food I've done doesn't require narrative.

There are a lot of MSCs that require little or no narrative and perhaps they would be more to your liking. I do a lot of shops for Maritz that require no narrative, but many of their shops require multiple pictures and have loads and loads of questions, some of which are difficult to sort out. It's all a trade off.
