Sentry survey -- yay for Dave!

Probably many of you got the survey invitation from Sentry. It offered a chance at a tablet for doing the survey. So I did the survey and when I got to the last page I discovered that the only way to get into the drawing for the tablet was to "like" them on Facebook!

No way!

So I sent an email to Dave, telling him the invitation was deceitful and letting him know in no uncertain terms how I felt about being asked to "like" an MSC on Facebook and asking, if he were a shopper, would he be willing to announce that fact to the world?

I sent that off and closed out of the survey without submitting it.

Very shortly after I sent it, I got an email back from him, saying that in response to my and other's complaints, they had changed the final page so that anyone who completed the survey would be entered.

So I'm very pleased with his polite response to my marginally polite diatribe. Apparently, Sentry is an MSC who will listen to shoppers.

Thanks, Dave!

I just may have to pick up one of those "casual dining" shops one of these days.

Time to build a bigger bridge.

I'm still trying to figure out why he sent the email to me????

There are reasons that a body stays in motion
At the moment only demons come to mind
They're trying to determine how many shoppers they'll lose if they go to direct deposit. How willing are we to reveal bank account info to them? At least they're asking rather than just doing it and waiting for the fallout.
I almost didn't hit submit because I thought it was going to take me to Facebook, it didn't. I would not Like any MSC on Facebook, no matter what the prize was.
Maybe I'll go back and redo it now. I closed out when I got to the FB part. I haven't logged in to FB in almost a year.

Plan the work. Work the plan.
You all complaining must be the reason I could enter without liking on Facebook. No way do I want all my relatives, friends and acquaintances and their relatives, friends and acquaintances knowing what I do.
If you started the survey it will take you back to where you closed out of it. I had to go back a page or two and then forward again to see the new final page. He had a sense of humor about how he worded it.

Time to build a bigger bridge.
I read it and decided not to respond. When I read the verbiage that claimed an advantage for shoppers in participating, it seemed vague and marketing-esque with a hidden motive.
??? This is what my email said:

"Greetings from the Sentry Marketing Group team. We hope that you are doing well.

We'd like to ask for your opinion on a number of topics ranging from payment methods to the type of technology you own. Our team is looking for ways to improve our processes, provide better service and support to our shoppers, and become easier to work with. Your experience and point of view is an important part of our decision-making process and we would appreciate it if you would take the time to complete a short survey that will help us in several important areas.

At the end of the survey, you'll have the opportunity to enter the drawing to win a 7" Android powered tablet computer.

To participate in this survey please click Sentry Marketing Group Shopper Survey

Thank you for your hard work and dedication. Our company cannot flourish without the outstanding contributions of our shoppers.

Sincerely,

Dave "

I don't see any carrot dangling there but the Android tablet drawing. Did you get a different email?

Or was it something in the survey itself that suggested that? I don't even remember what was in there any more.

Time to build a bigger bridge.
I'm going to do the survey now. I ignored it at first and would have been irritated about the FB thing. I am still confused as to why we would ever be putting our mystery shopping affiliations on Facebook.
Last time I participated in something like this with another MSC, I was told I won a $50 Amazon gift card. Only to find out that there was a glitch and everyone else did too. Long story short, I didn't win the gift card. Waste of my time. I already have a tablet and have no interest in getting another one.

I never really got joining MSC Facebook pages myself.. Sure you get updates and what not but my area is competitive enough as it is. If I wanted my friends to know what companies I do work for, I would tell them verbally not by Facebook broadcast.

On another note... Why would I want a 7" Android Tablet? To recycle? LOL

My father purchased the top of the line Samsung Android Tablet and it is a piece of junk!

I actually won a tablet from Dave a couple years ago, he does pay off, worth taking the survey.

Live consciously....
Was it a yellow legal-sized or a white letter-sized?

I have one I purchased last Black Friday when they were running the rebate.

I use it as a Kindle. Ocassionally to surf the Internet or watch Netflix in the bathtub. The battery life is amazing. I can go a full week of medium/heavy use without charging. My only complaint is that the camera quality kind of sucks.

In the bathtub, that could be a good thing. smiling smiley
