I got my stethoscope, ages ago now, through a veterinary supply catalog. They have lower-end ones, and the really high-end ones. My mid-range one works just fine ~ I could even hear little unborn puppy heart-beats when they got far enough along. It was how I confirmed that my carefully-planned breedings had taken. Eventually, you can feel the puppies wiggling around in there, just by gently laying your hand on Momma-Dog's tummy for a little while. Sometimes you can even see them turn over and kick ~ pretty adorable.
