Phoebe70 – The client probably wants to have a specific balance of their evaluations for their demographics; maybe there's a variance on how a different demographic's were being treated or they just want other ways to look at their results? Whereas other clients don't care to specify a specific demographic for their reports, just a random sampling. When you random sample, you might not have acceptable sampling when taking focus on a specific demographic; this client apparently wanted to be able to do this. Does gender, age and race make a difference? Who knows.
I haven't felt a noticeable change in service for this client, but from other experiences, I have felt a difference in some fine-dining shops and up-scale bars when shopping alone vs. shopping with a female companion vs. shopping with a male companion. For example, I felt that the services I received were sub-par when I dined alone, compared to bringing a female companion around my age, or even an older person, like my mother.
Whether it's because of age, gender or race? Who knows if those were a factor in the services I received, but I definitely have felt a difference.
