KSSRyan. What A Piece Of Work!

I submitted thru him for a job last week. He sent an email confirming acceptance. Later, he sent an email cancelling the shop. No explanation. So I sent him one back simply asking why. He did not care to respond.

Hey Ryan. Is this the way Lori has taught you to conduct business ?

Maybe someone will show you this to provoke a response...

I have only good things to say about Ryan. Mrcomputer, please know I'm not discounting anything that you said in your post. I just think it is odd that Ryan did not respond. That said, one time Ryan called asking if I would help him out with a shop that was 40 miles away. Because I was going to be in that area the next day, I agreed and asked him to put the shop on my page. Well, he forgot. I sent him an email and he quickly responded by putting the shop on my page.

Ryan was out sick today, but I will look into this tomorrow for you and find out what is going on. As far as your beef with me, I have no idea what it is, but if you'd like to call me, email me or PM me, I'd be happy to try to work things out. I've been in this business for 16 years (almost 17!) and 99% of shoppers love working with KSS (obviously, or there is no way we would have scheduled just over 1,000,000 (yes MILLION) shops in 2013.) If I have done something personally to offend you, I would like the opportunity to fix it.

My account managers (or schedulers as you call them) are trained to be professional. They know to "smile" from the wrists down, even when inwardly they are extremely frustrated. Ryan is definitely a shopper favorite. Shoppers email me every month telling me how much they enjoy working with him, so if there is a complaint, it is something he and I will definitely want to address immediately, as he knows he is only as good as his relationships with his shoppers.

I hope you will allow us an opportunity to rectify this situation.

Ryan is adorable. I think that I have underwear older than him.

Anyway, he was very nice to me, stayed late and let me call him on his personal cell phone until the project was completed.

Then, I promised I'd never do another shop for that client. smiling smiley

LOL

While we are on the topic of KSS, would I be able to get an explanation as to why it takes weeks if ever for some KSS schedulers to assign shops in Canada? I figured since Lorri posted, I may get a response about it. smiling smiley

mrcomputer, I'll bet you had a cranky day. I know exactly what that's like and I hope today is better for you. Not getting an answer to one email doesn't seem like a good reason to label someone a piece of work on a public forum that's sourced all over the internet. Think about how you would feel if you googled yourself and got a link that said "Mrcomputer is a piece of work". And then you clicked on it and it said you hadn't answered an email. Wouldn't you think somebody was over reacting a bit? How about changing your thread title to something like "KSS Ryan didn't answer my email right away and I think I'll act like a piece of work and slam his reputation on the internet." Or something like that.

Hi Dixiewhiskey,

Feel free to email me at KSSLorri@kernscheduling.com and tell me which shops you are referring to, and I will look into it!

How about several emails over a couple of days? No matter Anyways, I finally got a response. I found out he messed up and assigned them before they were available. I am sure Lori prompted him to respond. Thanks...

Actually, I did not tell him to respond. He was OUT SICK from Friday - yesterday (as I mentioned last night). He responded to all of his shoppers this morning when he returned to work. I think perhaps you jumped the gun.

I also personally checked his email account and he only had one email from you on Friday at 4:30 pm.

Maybe an apology is in order?

Hi Lori!

I am wondering if you could PM me with a work email address? I have had issues with KSS in the past regarding a scheduler not believing that I was unable to complete a shop due to a software glitch on the online shopper form I was inputting into and since then I have been unable to schedule any KSS shops. I have let it go but since I saw your response here I thought I'd try contacting you directly. Thank You.

OOPS! I see your email address above. Sorry about that, not noticing it sooner. I will send you an email to this address later today. Thanks again!
I thought someone said this thread was closed; just testing to see if that's true.

You can't really still be looking to provoke a fight, can you? Come on. Enough is enough.

Still waiting on your PM, Email, or phone call. Let's work this out like adults, ok?

Looking forward to it!

Lorri, do you know that old saying about wrestling with a pig? You'll get dirty and the pig likes it.

So, what is a shopper with an assignment due supposed to do when their scheduler is MIA for days? I have experienced this problem also. Numerous emails were unanswered. I didn't get an out of office reply or instruction to contact a different scheduler for assistance. The most recent time this occurred, I had a target to shop, within a specific window. Five days had passed since my first email to Ryan. I then emailed Lorri, who replied the next day. The shop was eventually rescheduled, though the entire experience played havoc with my schedule. It also took way too much of my time.

We need support, whether it's a weekday or weekend shop, when questions arise. Not responding for days to repeated emails from a shopper needing assistance is not acceptable to me. It shows no respect for a shopper's time.
Of course that's not acceptable. It sounds like the thing to do when you get no answer is to email Lorri immediately.

My credit union has shops with KSS and I love doing them. The reports are super easy and the pay is not so bad.

Ryan has always been responsive to my inquiries, even if sometimes they consist of only one or two words.

Only wish they had more shops I was interested in around my area.
They expect you to respond immediately and I think it is reasonable to expect the same from them.

I have had problems with KSS in the past and have not shopped for them for a year now due to this. That said, I do respect how Lori has stepped into the ring here to try and set things right. This seems rare in the world of business today and when I do run across it, I feel as if it's almost my duty to compliment it. Kudos to you Lori K for reading the comments here and for trying to offer resolution!
Lorri is very responsive to shoppers and that is a definite plus! We've had our differences in the past, but I have seen that she tries to answer shoppers whenever possible.

Arguing with fools is like playing chess with a pigeon...
...No matter how good you are, the pigeon will s@^t on the board and strut around like it won anyway.

Not scheduling for ANY company.
From my POV it seems most of the forum defenders of KSS, whether it is Ryan, Alan, Jeff or Lorri the defenders/fellow shoppers are self serving- just looking to lock in assignments. From what was posted one is adorable but forgetful, the other does not follow through on an agreement and Lorri obviously likes to put out fires since she has to come on this forum and defend her inept employees. One of the KSS schedulers was desperate to get a shop done, I agreed. He told me to sign up on the MSC website, here is the email clip:

Subject Line: "I Need Your Help!"
"Please be sure to indicate that you were referred by KSS on your registration.
Please let me know once you are registered and I will hire you into the Xxxxxx system and assign you**."

Less than 5 minutes later, following the scheduler's instructions I informed the scheduler I signed up on that website, email verified. Never heard back. Emailed the scheduler again, never heard back. KSS asked that I say I was referred by KSS; I followed through, was never assigned the shop and never received a reply from the scheduler. KSS is on my ten foot pole list!

Lori is responsive. I wish she would resolve these long term problems with her Schedulers. I am not looking for a fight. I would like to see these issues resolved. My problems with these Schedulers is not an isolated problem.
