GFK Big Box Audit - I'm sorry, what!?

Anyone seen this yet??

The shop is scheduled for 11-28 (today) and the question is asked, "Can you complete the background check and drug screen by this date?" Excuse me?

4 to 9 hours!? Seriously?

"-We are expecting the background check/drug test to be available for you on Monday October 13th."

"-We will not reimburse the check/test for anyone who does not complete at least two audits by the end of February 2015."

I'm sorry, what!?

This specific shop was originally offered for $75 So, what I'm seeing is a lack of shoppers to jump at this chance for $75, right? The shop has now been bonused with an additional $35. Whoo hoo. No thanks!!

Anyone ever done these and is it as bad as it looks??

Begin GFK shop description:

**Drug test and background check must be completed this week*** GfK has been contracted to perform in-store audits in select BIG BOX retail locations. The audits will consist of visiting BIG BOX retail locations and evaluating compliance with store policies. Store policy evaluations will require the use of scanning equipment, counting, observing interactions, reading planograms, checking store ads, checking if electronics are on and functioning, etc. This audit is fully revealed and auditors will need to interact with store management and personnel throughout the audit.

Some key things to note:
-This will be an announced audit at a specific BIG BOX store location
-In order to complete this audit, you will need to have a smartphone or tablet as you will be entering your results while you are in the store.
-The audit will last 4-9 hours based on store size.
-You will be able to complete your audit between 8am-5pm local time but you will need to arrive at the location no later than 8am local time.
-The audits will be completed in one day.
-This audit requires a lot of walking/bending/stooping so you must be able to be on your feet for this long period of time.
-You will be paid $50 to $105 per audit depending on the size of the store.
-You will be required to dress in business casual attire.
-You cannot participate if you currently work or have worked for BIG BOX in the last 2 years
-You must pass a quiz in order to be finally authorized to complete the audit.
-You will be required to complete and pass both a background check and drug test to qualify for this audit. You cannot complete your audit until your results have been received by GfK. This will cost $30.25.
-If you do not begin your background check/drug testing process within 2 business days of it being made available to you, your assignment will be removed and you will not be eligible for this program in the future.
-We are expecting the background check/drug test to be available for you on Monday October 13th.
-While you will be required to pay for your background check & drug test, GfK will reimburse you for this cost after you complete two audits by the end of February 2015.
-We will not reimburse any portion of the check or test for anyone who fails either or both tests.
-We will not reimburse the check/test for anyone who does not complete at least two audits by the end of February 2015.

We will only be accepting a limited number of auditors into this program. After this initial month of audits, we will only rarely open this program up to others.

We have one of the fastest payment schedules in the industry! We pay via PayPal, 2-3 weeks after your report has been proofed and accepted.

Well, they do pay quickly. I will say that for them, at least.

As for the big box store, if it's the same one that I did a few years back--run. Fast. And delete that email even faster.
I agree that it's a lot for a little. The range of pay confuses me as well.
However, that's a lot of proprietary information to be posting on a public forum.
What happened to REGIS? That is an Inventory firm . For what the Bluebox and GFK are paying it sounds like they want us to do inventory. By no other name would I call it an AUDIT.grinning smiley
No thanks - they can hire regular employees to do their audits, have a background check and take a drug screen. For those requirements they need to give me benefits.
Hi, I have done 6 of these now (doing my 7th tomorrow), and other than the 8am start, I do not mind them at all. My first one felt a little overwhelming and took about 6 hours, but after that, I got the hang of it. My other ones have mostly taken 4-5 hours. They get a little tedious, but IMO they're not difficult. And you enter the report from the app when you're right there in the store, so you don't have to worry about doing it when you get home. I can't say it's something I would want to do every week, but occasionally like this, I like it and think it's definitely worth it (for me)- especially with that bonus! I'm looking forward to seeing those payments roll in now. grinning smiley

Happily shopping the Pacific Northwest. Shopping since 2013 smiling smiley
OKay, if your first one took 6 hours and you were paid, let's say $50 that's wayyyyy too much of my day tied up... when I can hit 2 shops an hour (same general area) for fees and reimbursement and in the time you did that one, I have done 8+ shops and paid much more...smiling smiley

That would be a waste of my day! tongue sticking out smiley
Yeah, to each his own smiling smiley Most of mine have been $90-95 (with one $75 I think). But I'm sure it varies by area since they give such a wide range.

This should would require no less than 355 for me to do it.

And I would need to be bored that day with nothing else to
do.
