Harland Clarke

I'm signed up to do my very first shop with this MSC. I like the email communication so far. What I don't like is their website. Very minimal amount of information provided. I don't like that the shop fee isn't listed anywhere on my assignment. Hoping for some feedback from others who have worked with them. Are they good and how do they pay? I'm assuming by check...if so, how long does it take to receive payment, typically? Thx!

They do pay by check. Their website is very minimal and really only worth visiting if you have a shop assigned to you. Very reputable company, great pay, good communication. They're one of my favorites. I'm bummed I haven't received any emails from them since around November/early December.
I like the company a lot. It seems like just recently they've started having shoppers call before doing the assignment, which I applaud. The pluses are that the pay is better than most non-video MSCs, they often pay mileage and, so far, they've accepted all of my shops without question. The cons are the narrative requirement of "describe your experience from beginning to end, including the names of products and the rates offered", the paper check and only emailed job offerings.

I intend to live forever. So far, so good.
You must call them right before you go into do the shop and if another shopper has done a shop prior to you, you may be told to NOT shop a certain employee. It's easy enough to not shop the same teller but the financial rep could be a bit more tricky. So far I've been lucky and not gotten the same rep The fees for the shop should be listed in your initial email.
I'm surprised, since I just did two shops for them this week and, as required, called Harland Clarke before I did the first one, so they could ensure I understood the guidelines. No one said anything about who I could or could not shop.

I love this company. They will send attachments for you to read that include the pay and a sample report. They pay very well and also pay for mileage. They are very friendly if you need to call and ask questions about your shop.

That is VERY client specific. I've shopped probably a dozen clients for them and only 3 that I can remember off the top of my head did I have to call to get the names of people who had already been shopped.

The eArly shoppers in the month shop anyone. As the monthly cycle runs down they target who is left.
I've had them both ways.
For banks who are getting shopped multiple times a period. MANY of their clients are only shopped once per period and they do not have that requirement.

They must have many shoppers near me as every email I receive are all locations that are over 80-120+ miles away and I am in the heart of the population center for my area.

I'm not interested in that much windshield time for single shops, even if they do pay for it. They are all scattered in remote areas.
I applied to shop for this company but never heard back from them. I guess I didn't make the grade even though I am gold certified and have lots of experience.
I do shops for them and the instructions will tell you if it is a targeted person that you cannot shop. Sometimes avoiding a certain banker or teller can be a little difficult but Harland Clark will work with you till you get it done. The call in before the shop is easy and is more to make sure you understand the instructions.
