Mystery Shoppers Pros/ MSP Services LLC - feedback?

I'm looking for more recent feedback on a smaller company.

Don't get confused with other similar sounding companies. It goes by either Mystery Shoppers Pros or MSP Services LLC. On it's home page there is a image of a standing man in a grey trench coat and fedora leaning against a wall writing in a small notebook. The link is here [mysteryshopperpros.com]

Thanks in advance.

PS: This is the one that also sells clothing and accessories with it's logo on them.

I completed one restaurant shop for them a few years ago. It was a flat fee that barely convered required food/ beverage/ tip. Shop entered on Prophet. Shop entered on 9/25 and payment was received on 11/1. That is my experience.

They are on the smaller size for mystery shopping company based out of NJ.

They tend to do more restaurant and bar integrity shops over anything else although I have done a couple oil change shops for them as well. I have never had a problems with them and always get paid on time. They have a contract I believe with the XXXXXX in NJ as well as some other restaurant chains. The work they have seems to be mainly in the tri state area of NY, NJ & PA. I find working for the smaller companies is a whole lot easier to communicate with. I highly recommend Mystery Shopper Pros.

I'm conrfused, Jash1057. Your post says you have done about 10 mystery shops for them without a single complaint and you highly recommend them. But your profile shows your real name as Mystery Shopper Pros and your other posts posted shops for the company on the Job Board. It seems a bit duplicious to post as a mystery shopper who recommends the company if you are actually employed by (or the owner) of the company.

Are you still the owner of the company?

It might clarify things for everyone, and would certainly present the company in a more professional light, if you added a signature line identifying yourself and acknowledging your relationship with Mystery Shopper Pros.

edited to remove the client name - I quoted the MSC owner's post in which he revealed a client, which is a violation of forum rules. His post was moderated to remove the client name and I am removing it from the quoted portion of my post.

I started to report this as an ICA violation, but it looks like the owner of the company is misrepresenting himself, pretending to be a mystery shopper who has just done a few shops for the company, to give himself a good reference. As company president, he can disclose the names of his clients without it being an ICA violation, but it is still against forum guidelines.

Is it against forum guidelines for a company president to post on our forum pretending he's a mystery shopper so he can give a fake mystery shopping reference for his own company? If he is the company president, of course he didn't have a single complaint when he performed 10 shops for his own company. And of course the company president always got paid on time.

This is a poor recommendation for Mystery Shopper Pros.

There is one rate below parcel post. They will open the package and make certain it contains books or old media formats.

I would like to apologies for the past post as I was a previous part time employee of MSP who hasn't worked for them in several years. While I was working for them I did use this forum to post shops for the company as to why my handle more then likely came up from the past. I didn't mean to deceive anyone as I still do mystery shops for them every once in a while and I was answering this truly as a shopper. They really do have the shoppers in there best interest.

I am sure if anybody has a question about the company they would more then happy to take the time to talk to them directly on the phone.

Please accept my apologies.

So ...... now I'm even more confused. In March 2009, you posted an introduction to our forum telling us you were Jim Johnson, the company owner. Are you now saying you are not Jim Johnson? And that you were never the company owner? Were you actually only a part time employee with the company at that time?

Hi,

I am the owner of Mystery Shopper Pros. I have joined your group so that I can share our upcoming mystery shops with you. You are all welcome to sign up with us at www.mysteryshopperpros.com

Thanks,

Jim Johnson

I'd be interested in reading a comment from the owner of the company or someone who has the authority to speak for the company.

Although I appreciate an apology, I am quite confused. What exactly are you apologizing for? Misstating you are the owner of the company or not stating that your were a former employee? Would you consider posting a phone number and contact for the company?

Thank you for your time and consideration.

I think that this MSC is worthy of a profile in the MS Magazine.

Walesmaven,

You disappoint me as this company was reviewed a few weeks ago in issue 107.

On one hand I wish these more recent comment showed up before the review was completed. However, I am not sure how to take these comments. But that is what the forum is all about. People update information, challenge assertions and comments, and put their own take on things.

Keep posting!

When a shopper is considering working for a company that is new, anyone can check the forum for discussion and the MS Magazine for reviews. The reviews are great in that they are quick to read summaries of the company and discussion on the forum. By now, there are probably more than one hundred company reviews in past issues.

I think walesmaven may mean this company is worthy of an expose rather than a profile. Maybe the company should be profiled again showing updated information and giving the company a chance to respond. The recent forum posts raise big questions about the ethical behavior of this company.

Will the real Jim Johnson please stand up?

Is Jim Johnson actually the president (or the owner) of Mystery Shopper Pros?

Is Jim Johnson, President of Mystery Shopper Pros, pretending to be a shopper on forums so he can give his company false positive reviews?

Or is someone impersonating Jim Johnson on this forum? If so, that person did work for Mystery Shopper Pros from 2008 to 2013 and was posting jobs for them on this forum during that time.

That's an article I'd really like to read.
vlade,
Sorry, but my comment was meant as irony!

I agree it would be great to clear up the identity of Josh1057. Typically, reviews post the details about the company and summarizes discussion on the forum. We aren't asked to take an investigative journalistic approach to root out misdeeds there for good reason, I think. Why don't you have a look at the review and comment if there is anything missing - other than the identity of Josh1057, of course.

As for an expose, I'm satisfied to know Josh1057 has a presence on the forum and can answer for himself if he so chooses. Anyone with direct experience about the company can also post. If you or anyone want to contact the company directly with this question can also do so. Any takers?

My question would be why would a company owner let a former employee have access to his forum account, one that used to be used to post jobs. If he was disgruntled he could really do some damage. He has probably cost the real owner his cred on this forum.
