Had enough of MarketForce

If you use the same spelling and grammar in your reports that you just used here it's no wonder they give you a hard time.

They're just an awful company that apparently hates their best shoppers.

I'm presuming that their best shoppers are those who self-assign shops the moment they appear on the job board, and who don't make them pay bonuses. Also, their best shoppers would be those who file honest and accurate reports without errors and immediately after completing the shop. So I don't think that they hate their best shoppers.

What I think they discourage are "professional shoppers." This MSC wants average shoppers, without bias. This MSC knows that shoppers who perform many shops during a given time period will develop a bias. This MSC uses statistical analysis to identify bias. Once your bias is identified, you will be removed from the client or deactivated altogether.

Let's say you have 1500 shops with Market Force, and are in good standing, and that you perform 150 shops per year, and have done so for 10 years. This would mean that your reports don't indicate any bias, which indicates that you may be shopping the same locations again and again, year after year, because you would presumeably get the same type of service at the same location.

Now say you perform 1200 shops for Market Force in a single year, or 100 per month. You will develop a bias, and you will be deactivated, everytime, because to do that many shops, you will have to visit many different locations and perform many different types of shops. Then you are more likely to run into very poor service. When you report numerous instances of poor service, the algorithm will identify it as being caused by a bias, and you will be deactivated.

So don't do too many shops in a month for this MSC, and you can last a long time with them.
Well put, jilummer. Market Force's best shoppers are those who do all their shops right and are average, everyday custoemrs. They do not want a "professional shopper," which is why those performing a huge number of shops don't seem to last long. They want a "new perspective" on all their shops, as well as the shops done right.

And let's not forget, this is the company that appeared on Judge Judy. The attorney who represented the company was questioned after the show about the "qualities necessary to be a Market Force mystery shopper." The attorney's answer was priceless: "well, they just have to be breathing, basically."
I've worked for Marketforce over 7 years with no problems, any issues that have come have been reconciled in a reasonable amount of time. when I did'nt get paid for one it was my fault went at the wrong time, the was scheduled to complete a shop bonused at $40.00 .

It was something that he had read and didn't understand what it meant. Wanted to know if there were Mark and Fred and Beatrice ports also.
No wonder you have done so bad with Market force. You appear to be A) Clueless or cool smiley a Troll. Oh and you're welcome for nothing come again and we will still not help you. And if you want to vent go to Facebook or if it's still around MySpace. That seems to be the major purpose of those sites. Or you could tweet it and see how many followers you get. Probably Zip, Nada, None.

weatherman, try venting in your mama's kitchen. Fall down in the floor and scream and kick your little feet. Go red in the face and drool spit. That's what it takes to change things for the better in this business. Yeah, that'll do it.

MDavis, are you the one who has been MIA? If so, it looks like you are baaaaack and in full form. Maybe weatherman just needs a diaper change.

That's really interesting and I hadn't thought of it that way before. It seems most companies that ask for detailed narratives and a huge amount of recall and attention to detail do want "professional shoppers." Otherwise they're going to be stuck with half-literate Yelp reviewers.

I wonder what quality of data each type of shopper can provide and whether it's a matter of giving companies actual useful material for predictive analytics or just telling managers and executives what they want to hear. In the case of one of Market Force's more prominent clients, mystery shopping certainly isn't doing anything at all for their profits.
Wow, bunch of real tools around here. You must make your owners very proud. Perfect Market Force fodder.
But Market Force told me I was pretty.

Well, here we go and right on time. Speak up for the MSC and get called fodder. And they must own us, too, right? Guess our problem is we don't screw up our shops/reports and therefore we get paid for our work and therefore we think the MSC is AOKay. If we really messed up big time we could stomp and scream and yell and throw a fit and make it all their fault. Oh yes, have a tantrum and act like they're to blame for our failures. Why not? That worked once in grade school.

And we all agree, af517. :-)

Thank you. *preens*

Seriously though, I would be sympathetic to this kind of "screw the man" ranting from a Wal-Mart drone or a factory worker. Mystery shoppers are the last people on earth who can complain that they're being controlled and kept under the thumb of their "employers."

I decided to not do any more of a certain shop for this company because the guidelines got more tedious than I wanted to deal with. Not because the company itself screwed me over. I do other shops for them and have always been paid on time. I get sick frequently and often have to reschedule or cancel shops and they have continually worked with me when I'm in the hospital. They haven't yet deactivated me because of my frequent changes due to hospital stays. They often call me with bonus shops which I'm nearly always willing to accept. I did get very frustrated with guideline changes on a couple of clients that have cost me money and future shops. But the fault lies with the clients, not the MSC.
