going crazy over this pizza shop

Ugh, I'm so upset. I took a million pictures of this pizza fro. The EXACT angle, and literally spent waaaaay more time trying to perfect this (as I've heard a couple horror stories about this shop, and figured I'd try it.)Photo was rejected because of pixels. I couldn't get my phone to take 640x480 and when I resized them they came out distorted. I uploaded both, just in case, and they were both rejected. This is my first rejected shop, and I'm a little bummed out. Any one can give me any tips for next time ???

You have to have the right lighting and camera to make these pictures look sharp. I do these quite a bit and never had a shop rejected. Once you find the lighting and angles, plus the correct camera, these shops take 10 minutes of pics and input. smiling smiley
I use my 12.1 megapixel Canon camera with flash (I turn off most of the other lighting in the room). I use the box edges to make sure that I am aligned correctly in the viewfiender. I upload the high resolution photo. I do not try to mess with the pixel count. No one has ever complained (I have made my way through 3 different MSCs).

Shopping Southeast Pennsylvania, Delaware above the canal, and South Jersey since 2008
There are two companies that do this right now .
One company general rejects lots of shops due to photos.
I do my shops for the other company
I use my iPhone and when it asked me what size I choose actual size
I have a feeling that you're doing your shop for the company in the Midwest

There is no pizza shop that requires you use such a low resolution for the photo. It is meaningless as they can't see if the cardboard crust is cooked properly. They must also see the amount of oil floating on top of the imitation cheese shreds, the amount of corn syrup infused unflavored tomato slop, and count the razor thin slices of pepperoni. At that low of a resolution, they can't do that!

There is one MSC from the stone ages that requires this low resolution (640x480) for some gas shop, but never for a pizza shop!

The last one I did clearly stated:

I am actually wondering if I even care if the company that can kiss my gritz puts me on the bad list. I really resent the tip issue. That is just crap and having worked my younger years in the service industry I can't not tip right. Hell, I will skip the middle man and spit in my own pizza for a dollar tip.
I am just to new to this to know if they offer anything good or not, so I don't want to totally burn my bridges.

That resolution is too low. I have never seen that recommended for the pizza shop, the higher the better.
I never use my phone to take the pizza pictures. I use my camera and set it to the highest numbers. Never had a pizza shop rejected.
Don't use a phone camera unless it's at least 8MP. I've done several of these myself and I've never had a problem.

My tips for 100% acceptance on the pizza shop: Turn on an overhead light. (I do this with 100% success every time which bathes the pizza in great light) Make sure your flash is on (so it can catch every bit of detail of the pizza) Set your camera to "close up", some of the other settings will not capture clarity. I use a 6 megapixel camera (actually 6.2)

I have done many of these shops and once I figured out a system for getting great shots, all of my shops were approved. smiling smiley

Tip final: Do not shut off all lights in the room. This creates shadows, as the only source of light is your flash.
I disagree with nanabelle. I only take these shops when they are highly bonused which happens often. Then I donate the hot pizza to a needy person. It is a win-win-win. The MSC gets their shop completed correctly and in a timely manner. I actually make a profit due to the high bonus plus reimbursement. The needy person gets a free meal.

Oh ya, I never have problems taking the photos and I usually take them in a parking lot before giving the pizza away. I have never had a report sent back with questions or a shop rejected.
I've done 3 of these and have never had one rejected. I use my iPhone 5 for the photos and they come out clear. Too bad the pizza sucks.
They hassled me on the angle and said the pizza picture was fuzzy, yet you could read the writing in the corner as requested. I told them if Ma Ma wanted a picture perfect pizza , then they should make a picture perfect pizza . Fax the picture thru, FaxZero.com & contact the BBB.org if necessary . I finally got paid ,won't do the shop ever again. Totally misrepresented, reimburse up to $25 & you don't have much toppings to choose from, and you can't even get extra cheese, pizza actual cost ,about $10, No Thanks and Good Luck!
i gladly let anybody/everybody around me have these shops.......not worth the risk of being rejected after all the work
So what if you get a shop denied? I'm confident that eventually they will out me as the shopper and/or deny my shop saying they don't like the pics or whatever. But up until then I'll take the bonuses. I'm going to come out way ahead even if I have to pay for the last pizza myself.
I haven't had any denied and I've done them for two different companies. Use good lighting, I use a floor lamp. I use my samsung Galaxy phone or my iPad, the Samsung has better resolution. I don't see how you could donate the pizzas, esp the ones that are cut and lined up. The others are always cold by the time you get the pictures.

What? It takes me 2-3 minutes to take my pizza photos. The pizza is still hot. A hungry homeless person is not going to complain if the pizza is not piping hot. Didn't you ever eat cold pizza the morning after a night out? It is awesome. Well, good cold pizza is awesome. Not this cardboard with ketchup on it.
It is good to know that there are shoppers who have figured out how to take these piks without them being rejected. That was not my experience as my photos were rejected. That shop was a one and done. Not so much because of the piks, I think I would have eventually figured it out but because the pizza is just so horrible.
Pizza shops are literally one of the easiest shops to do. I feel if you cant take acceptable photos and complete the easy survey you're probably not cut out for mystery shopping. It's like the kindergarten of shops. $20 reimbursement + $15 bonus. I'll take these all day!
