New Marketforce Law

"I understand I am not to combine shops. I will submit my report for one completed shop before conducting another."

The above is a "cut and paste" from Marketforce Screening Questions.

I just applied to do a Marketforce shop (and nope, not one of their $5.00 ones) and got the usual "screening questions" but with the above as the final question to be answered either "agree or disagree with".

I'm used to the "screening questions" but the last question is a brand-new one.

Just another way for Marketforce to dismiss/deactivate shoppers or deny payment?

Any thoughts on this, folks?

Marketforce is not frantically looking for ways to deactivate shoppers. I have made nearly every mistake possible and they still call me. They deal with a lot of new, low end shoppers and are trying to stop some of the mistakes they are seeing, such as information being mixed up between multiple shops, or overlapping times where the shopper indicates they were in two places at the same time. I've been guilty of both. They still call me.

based upon Parkcitybrian rants in another thread because someone criticized an MSC.
Its a hard to put any merit to his rant here.

The MF disclosure about not combing shops has been there for MONTHS , possibly for more than a year.

I think as soon as Market Force figures out who you are, (and they will) with your constant ranting and complaining, they will deactivate you, so our suffering from listening to you whine all the time about them, will stop....tongue sticking out smiley
How are you supposed to actually ENTER the shop when you are on the road? Even if it can be done on a phone, it would take a long time. Not everyone has a laptop...even less have a tablet...even then you have to find some place with free wifi which isn't secure....I am guessing this is for one specific client where it might be possible to do 2 shops at the same location on the same day.

which shop category is this for (gas, retail, service, airport, etc).

I just checked every category of shops near me and none say that.

Many shoppers enter their reports from the road. I am doing it right now while eating lunch, checking emails and posting here in the forum. I read posts on here all the time complaining about low-paying shops and not getting enough work. Investing in technology (and writing it off as a business expense on your taxes) makes good business sense. And using the age thing is no excuse. I have seen 80-and 90-year-old people using laptops, tablets and smart phones.

A screening question is just that. You don't receive or lose payment just for answering screening questions. From reading the other responses in this thread, you sound like one of the many MF whiners who post to this forum. Geesh people, there is life AND work outside of MF. Time to venture outside the box.

Oops. Hardware store is one where you have to report the 1st one before doing another one.
Thanks...I have done that one in the past....but there is only 1 in my area that is not currently available...so i don't do it often...and the same small staff that would likely catch on to me if i went too often. I usually just pick it up when there is a specific item I need...but the place is so small they don't have much....you just reminded me...i do need some spackle soon...

even though you don't get paid for screening questions...if you violate the questions...you likely will not get paid...some of them you might get away with (like briefly using your cell phone on a shop when you aren't supposed to as long as its not during a specific interaction..but others you can't)

I have no shops right now available to me on the msc website, and up until I messed up, I only had one, the hardware store. I did the screening questions and was immediately told I was disqualified. I assume I did not read one of the questions correctly, as I can't think of any reason that I would be disqualified. It was too early in the morning and I was flying through the screening questions just to see what was involved in doing the shop. I had never done one before. Does anyone remember what those questions were? For the life of me, I can't!

The screening questions change all the time and vary from client to client. I purposefully have "flunked" the screening questions so I don't have to deal with emails and phone calls for shops I have no interest in doing.
if you flunk a test it only invalidates for that month.
The next month everything re sets.

I saw this requirement a while back and emailed Helpdesk for clarification. I was informed that this rule only applies when you are doing shops for the same client. So, if you did their big fast food chain shop and didn't report it before you did a shop for their petroleum client, that would be okay. But if you did their big fast food chain shop for breakfast and then another one during lunch, but didn't report the breakfast shop before you did the lunch shop, then you have violated the rule.
That is NOT new..... has been on their site for years.....

This is not so they can avoid paying you, which means they have to reschedule the shop with another shopper. This is so you don't mix up two of the same kind of shop, such as two hardware shops the same day. You get home that night, they drift together like flotsam in a whirlpool. Not what they want.

You seem to feel they're looking for ways to avoid payment or excuses to deactivate you. Why are you still with them?

Guilty of the same. No more late at night screening questions for me.

I do as many gas stations as I want with them. No issue. Yesterday, I did three. Today, two. I usually do up to 4. I guess gas stations are exempt. smiling smiley
Agree on the gas stations. I've done multiples on the same day more than once.

The rule you are referring to is ONLY for the hardware shop with MF:

I asked this question too -- it was about a hardware store shop with MF-- IAW MF - this issue applied to this particular hardware shop only in the case where you have TWO hardware shops on the same day- they want you to complete the first hardware report before going out and doing the second hardware shop. IAW MF this was because the client was getting too many reports with co-mingled information from one shop to another - thus the rule. this rule applies to the hardware shop only: for instance you could do a FF shop and a hardware shop on the same day and then go home to do the reports online at the same time. BUT dont try and do two hardware shops the same day UNLESS you do complete the first report online -- only then go out and do the second shop.

I can't resist. There are many "laws" in the physical sciences. Boyle's Law (at constant temperature for a fixed mass, the absolute pressure and the volume of a gas are inversely proportional), Henry's Law ("At a constant temperature, the amount of a given gas that dissolves in a given type and volume of liquid is directly proportional to the partial pressure of that gas in equilibrium with that liquid."winking smiley, Ohm's Law (the current through a conductor between two points is directly proportional to the potential difference across the two points), Newton's Law of Gravitation, and many, many others. Have fun: [en.wikipedia.org]

You guys forgot the most important law of all...

I will use age!! smiling smiley I am a whopping 65, and if given a choice, I will sit at my desktop. When we travel, I use my husband's laptop, but sometimes prefer to go down to the lobby to use the hotels desktop. My smart phone is great, but I use it mostly to make calls, take pictures and audio record. I will read emails, but want a larger screen to respond. I sometimes text, but not often. My iPad is good, but I like to be able to print from my computer if I want a copy. We got it without the ability to use the internet unless there is WI-FI available, so it has its limitations. I am sure, if I went outside of my comfort zone, I would easily get by. I feel that because I did not play video games, and very few on my devices, I missed the tech boat when things were easier, and the transition might have been easier.

My son will walk me thru new things (IT genius), but I find if I can't take notes I don't remember well. I can only blame the medications I take for the less than perfect memory. SIGH. That said, wish I was more like all of you!!

And, I pick and choose the shops I want. If I had a bad experience, it was just that, an experience, and I don't shop that MSC again. My scheduling companies will offer and I will not accept. We still have free will. Hugs

I have done 5 mint magnets in one day back before when the only question was, did you get a mint? Hope I never get bit by that tick that makes you allergic to red meat.
