Marketforce Question

How do I see how much I will be compensated for a job, after the job has been accepted? I accepted some jobs last week, but can't remember for the life of me what the pay is. When i select the jobs in my list the compensation is not showed.

Yes, I may not print out all the instructions but I make sure to print out the CPI with the address, pay amount and hours that the shop needs to be done. Anyone else annoyed with the second page on the CPI?
When I print the CPI, I tell the printer to print only page 1. That way, no waste on page 2 because it doesn't print. smiling smiley

To save paper (and clutter), why not just print to PDF and save an electronic copy instead?

OP, besides the printing advice above, you need to keep a spreadsheet or something with ALL your shops and pertinent information. You will need this for tax season.
I just glance at the CPI online sometimes to look for any special instructions, and enter the shop fee and address in my spreadsheet. I don't worry about printing or saving the CPI. I've never had any issues.
I keep copies of every email (except auto reminders), assignment and payment information. And having that proof, especially when it comes to promised bonuses, has won me every dispute.

You've never had issues, sure. But when you actually need it to back up your case whenever miscommunication happens, that's when it'll get ya. It's one of those 'better safe than sorry' situations in any type of business.

Especially if you're using Chrome as your internet browser, it's simple to print to PDF and store any crucial information for an assignment, in a particular folder.

I'm with Sybil2 on this one. For each assignment, I typically print to PDF assignment information (that includes assignment number, fee, etc.), guidelines, reports I submit, clarification emails and any other email / text correspondence, etc. Sure, it becomes a pain sometimes that you're saving the same guidelines over and over again, but you'll be thankful whenever an issue does happen during a shop.

Yesterday I received a call from Marketforce for a shop. The scheduler went into the whole explanation, never mentioned a bonus or any fee. I didn't ask because I knew I was not available.

When the associate finally stopped talking, I said no, I'm sorry I am not available on Sunday or Monday. Then with an attitude she said, Why Not? I was so surprised. I said I am not available, I have relatives visiting.

After I was kind of annoyed.

Does anyone else usually give an explanation as to why they are not going to do a shop?
Yes - although I am irritated by a different company that does this. If a company calls to offer me a shop that is NOT available for me to self-assign on the website or if they want to offer me a bonus, that's fine with me. But if they call to tell me about a shop I can clearly see and I can self-assign if I want to, and they have no additional information to provide, no bonus, no nothing, why call me?

It annoys me when Maritz constantly calls and asks. I love shopping for Martiz (I self-schedule myself the shops I choose to do on their website; the shops I do not find attractive, I ignore). I get constant phone calls from their reps who "want to tell me about the open jobs in your area." When I say that I checked the website this morning and I have self-assigned all the shop that interested me, I hear "well, I'm just letting you know what we have." Then they say (naming an address that may or may not be close to me) "What about this shop?" I say that I did see it and did not select it. They say "Oh. Well, may I schedule you for it?" "No," I respond. "Well, why not?" Maritz almost never mentions a bonus. Apparently, this area is full of shoppers and they don't need to bonus except as a last-ditch effort and even then we are talking $5. This constant phone-calling is just a high-pressure tactic to try to intimidate shoppers into taking less desirable shops at the listed price. Apparently it works for them, because I've been with them 8 years and the phone call inquisition continues.

I'm so glad to hear that I am not the only shopper who is irritated by this. I do hear from other shoppers that they allow themselves to be bullied into taking these shops with no bonus simply because the caller seemed unwilling to take no for an answer. And I've even had Maritz reps respond to my refusal in a puzzled and hurt tone of voice, "well, MOST of our shoppers don't care about the money and they just want to help us out."

I've always wondered - can there be that many people who just don't care about the money?
Asking me why I'm not available will only get their question answered with my own: "Why do you ask? Do you really want to know the details of my day?"

However, if they ask ask why I don't want to take a shop, I'm more than willing to share feedback with them about what is undesirable about the shop and how much money it would take to get me to do it. If enough people share the same information about undesirable shops, maybe it will be helpful to them. If not, at least they'll know that I'm not very fun to talk to on the phone, burn up too much of their time and maybe shouldn't call me unless they have a nice fat bonus for me.

There are two types of people in this world: Those who can extrapolate from incomplete data.
I just tell them my schedule is filled, or that I plan to take some time off. If this isn't enough, and they say they really need the shop done, I tell them I could change my plans for X amount. That usually ends the conversation one way or another.
Once when they called me with a bonus offer, I wasn't available and I said so. The scheduler asked me if I would say why. I was surprised, and just said "no." He accepted that with a small laugh.
